The Day After: Edmonton Oilers 6, Los Angeles Kings 1 Discussion

Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers took a 2-1 series lead in Los Angeles last night by defeating the #kings 6-1. Zach Hyman continued his incredible start to the playoffs for the #oilers by scoring 2 goals. Evander Kane had a Gordie Howe Hat Trick and was under the Kings skin all night, and Stuart Skinner had a terrific bounce-back stopping 27 of 28 shots he faced in the win. The 3rd period was absolutely chaotic with the LAK throwing some cheap shots and EDM running up the score with their lethal powerplay. There is so much to talk about in today’s Day After Video, so grab a snack and relax and enjoy the show! 🔥

  1. I love kane’s response to being bumped up the lineup that’s the kind of Kane we like to see. When he’s actually firing on all cylinders he’s without a doubt one of our best players!

  2. Ok got a question. What do you think of Edmonton trading Campbell Ryan and Fogel to San Jose for a 4th round draft pick

  3. the reffing was horrible last night. the reason the coach was pissed was because after every scrum the oilers would come out with a power play. they even let bouchard play after he was supposed to be serving a 10 minute misconduct.

  4. I can sum up the Oilers in one word. Power Play! That is what is killing the Kings! That's why I got the Oilers in 5.

  5. WHAT. A. GAME! We absolutely outplayed the kings tonight. Let up almost 0 chances. Had plenty of chances. Skinner was basically perfect and we were physical. We also easily couldve had so many more PPs. But i cant complain. 2-1 Oilers now. We have momentum and the lead. We got this!

  6. Typical Kings. Always start to play dirty with intent to injure when they're losing. Loved how the boys drew them into penalties last night while also standing up for themselves and their teammates as well. It's something they need to keep doing throughout the rest of this series. Last night was a terrific response to a tough loss as well to reclaim home ice! Great performance from Stu which was massive. Kane was Kane again as well, he had an excellent game and was in the Kings' heads the whole time. Excellent move by Knoblauch switching him with Foegele. Game 4 coming up tomorrow, it's time to put the Kings in a stranglehold now! Let's go Oilers!!

  7. The slewfoot Lizotte threw was not only a late "hit" but that was the second slew foot Kane received in a few weeks. Karson Soucy did one on him in the last reg season game against the Canucks. And then the low hits on Desharnais last game and then last night. These kind of plays are dangerous. It's the NHLs lack of proper officiating that lead to the Kings taking massive liberties on our players. Is no surprise they are going after players with known injuries(Kane) and repeating plays that went unpunished(Desharnais). I'm glad the refs finally took steps to at least protect the players from policing themselves last night. If the Kings keep doing these plays, I'm afraid they'll either have the shortest bench for the rest of the series and/or our players will be carrying injuries into the next series(if they win this one) like Drai did in the 2022 run against Colorado. Kane's been getting his legs taken out all series long with no calls. The slewfoot by Soucy weeks ago should have been a wake up call, but i guess the league doesn't care how apparent the refs hatred for Kane is. Kane is such a team player in remaing composed throughout this all. I'm the thinking the league needs to wake up and learn when to officiate before a superstar actually gets taken out by cheap, no skill plays the Kings seem to keep committing whenever they get outplayed, and last night was a good first step.

  8. I wish McLeod would take notice of his teammates and start hitting 😡
With his speed and the amount of times in a game he skates right by an opportunity to explode into someone, one or two times per game, open ice hits😳….

  9. I saw all those cheap plays too. I was disgusted at this Kings cheap play. I hope oilers watch these and take a number. They deserve to be hurt next game.

  10. If you watch the american broadcast, the way they talked about the open ice hit was actually infuriating.
