I liked Curtis Axel but boy did he need to hit the gym
Where did they go wrong?
The B Team, the Miztourage, constant comparisons to his father
Take your pick
To be honest Curtis looked like a piece of fat trash. He doesn’t seem to be taking care of himself when I was last watching.
He was also the grandson of Larry "The Ax" Hennig.
One wonders if any old grudges Vince may have had against grandfather or father
When triple h "put him over" and fuckin axle mania
Joe Henning/ Axel had talent but his mic skill is were he needed help
ya going swimmung?
I felt like they had already given up on him when they gave him that name and were just going through the motions.
I wish they would have let him build on the Mr. Perfect gimmick his dad made famous. A good manager on the mic and his in ring skills would have gotta over💯
Ziegler did everything Mr. Perfect did and that was the problem of letting Joe Henning use his father's gimmick.
Conrad, Arnold, who was the guy that used to wear a shirt with hand prints on the back and he used to pat himself on the back? What was his name and what happened to him? I loved the guy!
Curtis Axel was obviously a tribute to Kurt Hennig and Larry the Ax Hennig
Calling him "Michael McGillicutty" for 3 years sure didn't help.
He seems to be retired
They should have just let him use his actual name. They gave him that BS Michael Miguilacuty name however that nonsense was spelled.
Then rebranded him as "Curtis Axel" they said to honor his grandfather. Smh if they wanted to, he could have gone simply by Joe "The Axe" henning. And have him work a brawler style with a little bit of mat technician. Since he didn't have a great build and also wasn't the sjze of a high flyer.
He had the same problem alot of these 2nd and 3rd generation wrestlers have…he's bland. Scott Putzki, Ted Dibiasi Jr, Laci Von Erich, Manu, Bo Dallas, even your precious Cody Rhodes, all ultra bland. It did help that Axel looked like he went to the gym once a week if that
Would love for him to go to aew as joe hennig. His own name. Still sounds badass, and we know he’s talented. Could be a good star over there. Always been one of my favorites of the past couple years. Was so happy when they were pushing him and I loved the name Curtis axel as well as his theme song. Unfortunate that he was in the wwe where they waste talent for fun
What’s crazy is WWE would always tell us who the guy was and who he was related to. It was the same treatment they gave The Rock with “Rocky Maivia” and it didn’t do shit for him either.
Joe got over the moment he accepted his dad’s HOF induction. It’s a damn shame he wasn’t given the opportunity to just be Joe Hennig.
I basically thought it was a slap in the face of Curt Hennings memory that they wouldn't use his real name . But that's just me .
Same thing with Bron Breaker….Bron Steiner!!
He should have used the name Axl Hennig and been given that “Better than Perfect” gimmick right off the bat. Then as the character developed he could do the same type of “perfect” promos playing different sports but always one upping what Mr Perfect did in his.
It pity his dad curt hennig was still alive he would great for joe and his sister amy
