Maroon hit on Rielly – Have your say!

Pat Maroon took a long run at Morgan Rielly. Was it from behind? Have your say!

  1. Maroon is a playoff player. Thats how they play. Three consrcutive Stanley Cups. Hmmm, how did that happen ?

  2. The league wants this kind of thing, because many hockey fans love it. But when you come home after watching a game where your favorite player was paralyzed for life or killed, and you don't lose any sleep over it, are you really a "fan"? Or would you have been better off born in Roman times, when seats at the Coliseum were dirt cheap? Oh, and by the way, sports turning violent is one of the common traits of every great empire that came before America. And where are those empires now?
Ice hockey has always been my favorite sport, but this kind of hit – 'legal' or not – is becoming so commonplace that more players careers are going to end.

  3. I'm a Leafs fan here. Maroon did very well to aim for the side of Reilly, this is the way to hit along the boards. Reilly protected himself enough, didn't turn further to get himself hurt more, this was a successful hockey play from both sides.

  4. I’m not a bruins fan, and I pretty much hate Pat Moron, but this was a nothing hit. Watch the slow-mo, Riley see the hit coming, is completely prepared for it and raises his arms up to absorb the impact. Moron impacts with his arms and shoulders into Riley’s arms and body, and Riley falls to the ice unaffected. Big deal, if this is a bad hit, playoff hockey is dead.
