1. You do not, as a coach, publicly single out your players for this kind of callout. Did Georgiev have a bad night? You bet. Has he been in a slump the last month or more that’s going to require some changes? Yup. But if Bednar were to say “yeah, Georgie’s been absolutely shitting the bed lately and we’re gonna have to bench him for now” he’d lose the room in a hurry, and rightly. 2. Yes, goaltending is a problem. It is not the only problem, and fixing just the goaltending will not magically fix the rest. Under those circumstances, it’s extra inappropriate to single Georgie out.
