@Nashville Predators

This Canucks team just left me absolutely SPEECHLESS….

the Vancouver Canucks just beat the Nashville Predators in Game 1 of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Dakota Joshua 2 goals, quinn Hughes linked up with Pius Suter to tie the game, what a come back win in Rogers arenas first home playoff game in just about 9 years! Crazy stuff and the Canucks keep surprising everyone with how they can play. Jt miller was a beast, he’s gonna have to maintain Ryan O’Rielly throughout this series.

  1. I don't understand why you are so high on Joseph? You do realize he ain't even great? He scored on a mediocre team that broke down in defense. The predators are known to shit the bed in the playoffs. Y'all won't win against the Oilers.

  2. Funny how they choose a skate out song that starts with the lyrics, “I want to run, I want to hide.”

  3. they did not play well it was mostly a Nashville game. lucky win – hope they get it in gear for a full 60

  4. This one had me worried at first. all they kept saying was how the nucks score first almost all season, well they didn't. All the talk was about the powerplay and penalty kill, well it's 2-1 cause of special teams. And then we tie it. OK back in. BUT THEN 12 seconds later! I nearly woke my 1 year old fist pumping. and Dakota Freaking Joshua! He gives me Nick Paul vibes, a guy who is just built for the playoffs. LFG

  5. Canucks played amazing in the 1st period but didn't throw anything on net & controlled the entire game. Game 2 is even gonna be easier because Preds look overwhelmed. This might be a sweep

  6. Man wish I could’ve been there in person. The opening was euphoric. Let’s bring this series home in 4 games!

Also in the post game, it was awesome to see the players reaction to how much we love our team. Milsy said he was about to tear up when he first saw the fans!

  7. Just my comment after watching the game, they should've kept Podkolzin in the line up, his play style would have suited this better than DiGissupe and Pettersson brought 20+ family and friends to see game one and he did almost nothing. Did not stand out at all. Two giveaways and floating around and one shot, he has been playing like this before they signed him for 12 million. I like him but he just doesn't stand out. Hoglander deserves to be on a line with Blueger or Garland and Joshua. Or with Miller. The team played great but Pettersson needs to wake up and play like he cares.

  8. I was at this game…oh my god the atmosphere was insane, the energy was electric my ears were ringing after the arena exploded after Dak gave us the lead, the crowd damn near drowned out the goal horn it was that loud. One of the best games I’ve ever been to and well worth every penny

  9. I have to say I loved the hitting. Hearing from other players about playoffs and that grinding experience versus a physical team is hard. Just having to get up, always having to be aware that someone is lining you up is something that gets to you mentally. I was impressed by Zadorov and I was really happy with how Myers played, and I am not a big fan of his. I really wish Podkolzin was playing though.

  10. I tell you, the goosebumps that overcame me when I heard the beginning of 'Streets Have No Name' in the intro was incredible. I was 16 in 2011, old enough to appreciate what was happening at the time but still young enough to feel the pure joy from the event. A wave of nostalgia came over me, best feeling I've had in months

  11. HIT THEM EARLY.HIT THEM OFTEN!!! THAT'S the kind of hockey I'm talkin bout!! Great game plan. Stop with the stupid penalties, Canucks!!

  12. It's funny, I was in my kitchen during the tying goal, went to glance at the tv and saw a center faceoff, and was like "nice, they tied it up". Went back to the kitchen to finish cleaning dinner, and of course, missed the Joshua goal. Then watching the rest of the game just being like "don't let the preds tie, c'mon c'mon c'mon". And of course, scrambling to get the highlights online because CBC didn't air any postgame.

  13. The 3rd goal sent everyone out of their seats at the bar I was working at. Oh my god i have never seen so many spilled drinks

  14. The fans really hate that song!

    Don’t bring that shit back.

What we would love to hear them come into the ice would be the hockey night in Canada song.

    Dadada da daaaaa

    Dadada da daadaaa

    That would pump us up.

Streets have no name is very cringe and fans absolutely hate it.

    Da da da

  15. Canucks played a great game, minus the dumb penalties in the 2nd. They can go all the way if they stay disciplines and stick to the game plan

  16. I was 18 years old when the Canucks went through their highly anticipated run in 2011 after having won the President's trophy. My favorite player and idol was Kesler and I was absolutely locked in as a fan. I have been a Canucks fan my whole life, dating back to when the Canucks came back from a 3-1 deficit vs the blues in 2003 but also surrendering a 3-1 lead to the wild. I would passionately collect the posters from the Province Newspaper, always highly anticipating which player would be featured next. I would plaster those posters all over my wall, smearing ink all over the white paint, but not giving a care in the world!

After the 2011 finals loss, I was devastated. It was hard to watch the Canucks fall the following year to the Kings and it really felt like the end. The energy in Vancouver felt off afterwards and I just knew the players I idolized and my favorite core was going to get split up. The canucks somewhat stayed relevant a couple of years after the defeat to the Kings, but I slowly and surely fell out of love with hockey as well as the Canucks, as the players I've come to love all started to leave the team or retire.

Enter this season's Canucks. I have been following each and every game and I have started to acclimate myself with the new generation of players today in the NHL. It didn't take long to learn about the new household names of each and every team and get used to the new style of play. With the amazing start of this team, it was only inevitable that this team would finally bring playoff hockey back to Rogers and the city of Vancouver.

Currently overseas but I made sure to wake up early and tune into the game, because I was so curious as to what the atmosphere was going to be like at Rogers Arena before puck drop. And holy sh*t, Vancouver did NOT disappoint. I always complain about how quiet and unpassionate the fans are during the regular season games (including this year relative to cities like Boston and Toronto), but today's game 1 was absolutely electric. I could not believe my freaking ears when the intro played the infamous 2011 U2 intro. Absolutely had chills and goosebumps and was very very emotional. I pray the Canucks win the cup this year, but whatever the outcome is, this year has been an incredible success and I'm so proud of this team and the city for persevering through all these years.

Let's all come together and cheer on the team! Let's go Canucks!!!!!

  17. It was anxiety producing, through the first 40 minutes and a relief when they got their focus back in the third and brought it home.

  18. Thank Gord the Canucks didn't get the Kings & their 1-3-1 for this series. This was an exciting game!

  19. "you are my sunshine" man, settle down 🤣 Great game, great result and let's move on to the next one. GO CANUCKS GO
