[Johnston] It remains to be seen if William Nylander will be able to get himself to a spot physically where he can suit up for Game 1 in Boston tonight. This isn’t an issue he was playing through down the stretch. He woke up Thursday in some discomfort.

Why are you laughing?! This is terrible news!

This is all so confusing, players normally will play through injury in the playoffs. Being out because of ‘discomfort’ doesn’t make sense. Speedy recovery Willy

Willy been stashing too many stacks of cash under his mattress

  4. I mean, weird shit happens.

I woke up last month not being able to move my left arm and in excruciating pain. I dont use pillows and somehow pinched the nerve at my shoulder. It went away in like 2 days but it sucked during that time.

  5. I guess they probably would have played anyways, but maybe in the future we reevaluate whether we prioritize more rest in meaningless games at the end of the season instead of chasing point totals.

The Athletic had an article up this morning talking about Robertson and some of the quotes Robertson gave sounded like he was in and he also took PP2 reps at practice yesterday.

Unless someone else would come out for Willy I honestly think he’s not playing tonight.

Missing playoff Willy and McMann will hurt. Thank fuck we have good depth. Robertson and Jarnkrok are both good players to have in as well.

Hopefully he just needs a couple extra days and is good for Monday or more realistically Wednesday back in Toronto

Plays all 82 and might miss game 1. Can’t write this stuff sometimes lol. Nobody would want to play more than him. Damn

Maybe this a move by coach to say to the team, we lean on Willy to much in the playoffs, it’s time for you to step up, show us what you’re made of! Have Willy come back in game three at home and lead us to glory…

Ehhh idk. I feel like Keefe just held him out as a maintenance day (or to play it super safe) but he’s still probably gonna be good to go. He’s just playing 4d chess with the media, making sure nylander’s injury is all they talk about

He will play. The cocktail of drugs he will be on will do the trick.

  13. IH8Trumps

Let hope this is playoff mind games and he’s actually ready af to play tonight.

Liljegren pretty much said Willy is going to be out

  15. Wtf man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Always bad luck with this team

I’m going to guess that it’s like appendicitis or something like that.

What about Jarnkrok and Robertson – are they in??

  18. i-like-your-hair

I can sympathize. I also woke up Thursday in some discomfort and won’t be playing tonight.

It is a bit serendipitous that this comes after the Leafs had settled into this spread out offence plan. The fact that he was going to slot into the 3rd line makes it a bit easier to take.

Obviously still sucks big time though. But imagine if we were relying on him to be on Matthews’ wing and had planned everything around that.

Wtf happened in that last game, fuck. He better not have been hiding an injury.

  21. Hegemonic_Imposition

Here we go again, another string of injuries coming for the core as they go into the playoffs.

  22. Hoardzunit

He should’ve never been playing the last two games. Fucking idiot coaching staff.
