end result was a bad hit, but to me, it truly looks like a normal square up in that situation until Liljigren was weak on his skates and fell kinda soft.
Absolute garbage hit. It is textbook boarding major. But because it was on a leaf player its a minor. Even worse was the lack of pushback or emotion from the team.
Suspendable hit for sure, and I am not a Leaf fan for sure. Funny thing, Lillygrin always seems to come up on the short end of these hits in his career. But the most disgusting thing about the Veleno ( in Italian, Veleno means poison btw lol ) hit was that no one, NO ONE from the Maple Laffs did anything !! What the heck was signing Reaves all about ??

Blatant hit from behind
dangerous
Problem is that Liljegren does know he's there and should have done better, that doesnt mean the hit is ok.
You learn as kids to anyways keep your head up, dirty hit

Not sure how Veleno thought he was going to lay a clean hit here. Thought it should have been 5 minutes when I saw it live.
5 game suspension easily

Had to ask my friend if hitting from behind is still a game misconduct…very confusing call.

2 minutes. Quit whining.
Hit from behind, five and a game
IT WAS A PRETTY STRAIGHT FORWARD BOARDING PENALTY.
The call on the ice was right. If you read the wording of boarding in the rule book, you'll see its the correct call.
He him so hard he lost his lower half of his body.
Bad. Very bad. You go to box and feel shame.
Liljegren always getting blown up. Definitely a bad hit.
That's a text book hit from behind. He drove up and straight through the numbers.
