With Kirby and Arber back and healthy and some picks and assets on defense to package for a sniper we should be knocking on the door of a wildcard spot next season. Plus we will see another progression from Monty and Primeau as our defense matures as well. GHG

I dont understand some fans sh*ting on MSL.
I think Jeff and Gorton know they found coach, that has same vision of what Habs could be.
We are at ending of one era of NHL and we are moving forward.
Old coaches as Ruff or Sutter and players as Ovi and Sidney have my respect.
But now is time to come with something new and teams that bring it first will be dominating for years to come.
You guys are lost Montreal was outshot outplayed most nights the only reason they got the points they did was goaltending that said his coaching style will never ever win playoff hockey he needs help behind the bench if he's staying cuz the defensive game there is none there is no support for the d or the goaltending
Habs should trade away some bad contracts throw in some draft picks to get money off the books find a top six forward I would move Slav to play with Kirby dach and Josh Anderson it would make a huge hard to play against line on the 3rd line Armia Newhook Roy go out and find two big aggressive fast forwards to play with Evans on the 4th line find a new player to play with Suzuki and Caulfield
The 7 starting Defensemen, without bringing in more Ds, would choose from the group that could be the D-Corps going down the road. These first 7 could be starting next year. Matheson, Savard, Guhle, Hutson, Xhekaj, Reinbacher, Mailloux. Starting 3 rookies with Matheson and Savard there for guidance. If the plan is playoffs 1-3 years, Year 2 is nearly ensured if it's not their rookie seasons. That leaves NHL proven Struble, Harris, Baron and Kovacevic that could be creatively used in any Kent magic. Getting all 3 rookies with club before the deadline should be the goal.
They should try and trade for Keller. I can’t imagine he’s happy with everything going on, and we have more than enough capital to get him.
Im ready. Are you guys ready? Im calling this: We will make a playoff spot next year. Ottawa and Buffalo will dissapoint again. Boston will finally fall and we will finish in the 4th position behind Florida Tampa and Toronto. Yes. The Habs i believe will be better then Boston next season. Hutson has shown exactly what i was expecting and hoping. I say he takes the #1 role and has a similar rookie year to Quinn Hughes. Some people might call me crazy for saying this with such confidence but with Guhle etc maturing, what is our weakness? I think its offense which i think will be covered.
Zayne Parekh i think would be the only defenseman i would take. And even still atm I value Hutson better. Im on the Celebrini train but realistically. Im super high on Berkly Catton. I think he will be like Suzuki where he starts off as a Center with #1 potential 100 points and ends up developing that two way evem with little size while still being great offensively and having great skills. 80-90 point player i think in a top 6 role.
An aggressive forward like Bertuzzi would be great
J'ai eu l'occasion de voir Martin St-Louis jouer si souvent lorsqu'il jouait junior pour le National de Joliette. Il était tellemment talentueux. Son physique était un moins pour les recruteurs. Quel joueur est-il devenu. Pareil comme coach.
Martin St.Louis for 2 more years!!!! God help us! Never coached hockey in his life but because he can speak French he gets the job. Too much sun atop Hughes head!

Best Player Available means who they think the best player is. Not what random stats guys think or attention hoes called insiders think. Being an armchair GM my guess is they draft a forward. Now if they can win the draft lottery that's BiG.

I’m trading a lot of MSL criticism but I mean the players love him! His systems are exciting! And we’ve lost the most one goal games in the entire league! On the flip side if we had won those games? We’d be playoff bound! We took strides no matter that we are in the bottom 6!
2 years away. Need better goaltending, 2 more snipers and a gorilla to protect the talent.
Next years 1st and 2nd harris and barron to ottawa for tkachuck …matheson and winnipegs 1st to carolina for Necas , draft Iginla …we will have flames 1st next year still and another 2nd

The MSL hate is a little confusing to me. The team has slowly improved while every young player has made steady improvements under his system. If another couple of seasons go by and the team still cant keep the puck out of the net thats another story. I could see a future where MSL isnt their guy when its time to go deep in the playoffs but for now he is their best option!

Glad MSL is going nowhere, but I was hoping Burrows and our ST coaches would be going somewhere. Not sure why Habs don’t see these coaches as not doing their job coaching up the players in these roles. Maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about….
