nope, Nashville is locked into Wild Card 1 since the Kings lost last night. you just read that tweet before you changed your statement lol.
i've never been a fan of this system as only the top spot finisher really benefits from their good season. 2 bonafide contenders will not be in the 2nd round. stupid. under the 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7 system you aren't punished for having 1 or 2 points less than the top team.
Lol
Vancouver going play Nashville 100% it's lock
It's certainly an exciting way to end the season.
As a Wings fan I'm just happy we still have a chance at making the playoffs at the end of the season. Way better than being eliminated in February.
Red Wing fan. I'm just glad it is almost over. After tonight, we should know who gets the last play off spot in the East. I sense…Washington. Dammit!
Everybody cheering for the wings.
Preds are already locked in wild card 1 in their division (Central). They are diff division from Vegas (Pacific). Vegas is competing with LA for the 3rd spot.
Imagine if Philly actually made that final wild card spot 😂😂😂😂
As a Vegas fan, the only team I'm scared of is Colorado. So for that I would like to go through Pacific route in the playoffs , either Vancouver or Edmonton… Then see Colorado in conference if both vgk and col make it that far
LGRW and Flyers
I am a big fan of the redwings I just went them to win another championship
If they went to a 3 point system, would there still be these last minute battles for playoff position? Someone with more motivation than me, figure it out. While I do find this exciting, there’s something wrong when a team with only 28 regulation wins is seeded higher than a team with 36. Some teams with more regulation wins won’t even make the playoffs. If an OT loss is worth more than a regulation loss, a regulation win should be worth more than an OT win. The current system isn’t balanced.
Vegas and LAK can only be 3rd in the pacific or 2nd wildcard. Nashville is locked into the 1st wildcard spot. Vancouver will play the preds unless they choke the division or if they overtake the Stars for 1st in the west
The missing piece is that pesky fact that Vancouver still needs one more point to get a lock on the Pacific. That's why Vegas and LA are still options.
Wings Fan. Has been a pretty good season and except for the losing streak, it has been fun to watch this team make strides in the right direction…I agree with D-Mac, this is not make or break for the Wings, but another step in the right direction.
