Rumors have surfaced that without a deep run in the Stanley Cup playoffs, the Toronto Maple Leafs could be looking at massive changes to their organization. Will the Leafs look at more than just a coaching change, will we see a major shake-up of the roster and will the Leafs make a deep run. Mark Pye breaks down these reports, rumors, and more on this episode of Hat Trick HQ.

  1. thing is, the Leafs got outplayed by the Lightning in last season's playoffs. The Leafs were lucky that Vasilevskiy couldn't stop a beach ball earning an .875 save pct in that series. The Leafs actually played better in the 2022 series vs the Lightning – much better.

  2. So Matthews, Marner, JT, Willie and Rielly all have NMC contracts. None of them are waiving so the only big move is not re-sign Marner and JT for the 25-26 season.

  3. The leafs look to be a tougher team this year compared to last year but they won't get much further than the 2nd round, hopefully they challenge for the Eastern final. A cup is out of the question. They need to improve on the goalie position and add a number 1 defense man. Maybe get rid of the Tavares contract.

  4. if our boys don't go far I fire Shanny and Keefe and his assistants I would keep Brad give him a chance GO LEAFS GO 💙

  5. Lmfao, big changes coming!!! You guys say that every year and it's always players NOT in your top 5. 😂😂😂😂😂

  6. Do not extend Marner and try to get him to lift his no trade clause, he only has one season left. He could fetch a stronger tougher playoff type of top three forward or top two right shot defenceman. Tavares is near the end. Brodie is gone. If Quenneville was available to coach again in the NHL he would be a great replacement for Keefe, but if not then some other coach that has better structure in the defensive end.

  7. Leafs front runners had no effect on the panthers last post season ,,, if the energy guys can step up could be a balancing act to a tighter series leafs out game 6 first rd exit ,

  8. Do u really think corporate look at the team the same way fans do LOL they make more money every yr then they did the yr before ! Same m o as it’s Alway been in my 50 yrs !

  9. I'd keep marner over tavares. Tavares only has a few years left. Better to not give up an all star player (marner) just for a few more years of tavares who is already in decline.

  10. THE TIMING IS VERY BAD ON THIS SUBJECT MATTER
“Leafs IGNORE MLSE UNTIL THE PLAYOFFS ARE OVER

IT IS The dumbass Dubas disaster ripple effect that remains the problem and will remain the problem for another 3 to 5 years
    … suck it up
    MLSE let it happen
    MLSE IS THE BIG PROBLEM
IT IS MLSE THAT REQUIRES THE OVERHAUL

Leafs will go two rounds and quite possibly all the way

Mathew’s 2 tonight eill hit 70 with two games left will hit 75

    MLSE SHUT YOUR MOUTH NOW

    LEAFS IGNORE MLSE

  11. Leafs will win it all or at least get to the finals I've seen a couple of signs leading to a couple of round victories. Every one needs to show up from the coaches to the players and training staff

  12. Of course, that's the Leafs and that's why I stopped supporting them.. First off, I'm old enough to have seen the last time the Leafs won the stanley Cup. All these moves will do is decrease the salry and increase profits. You'll get ticket price increases and a whole heap of excuses as to why they can't keep good players.
Shanahan is guilty of not fixing the defense. If you waant to complain, complain about that. There are times when they lacked toughness, complain about that but don't tear the talent base. That's just an old fashioned Leafs money move. I'm 63 going on 64 and I do not believe I will live long enough to see the Leafs win again.

  13. Does this team need changes? Absolutely, will they happen? Not in a million years. They’ll waste away their best chance at a cup in decades………..

  14. You know Domi's dad and Douggie gilmour have explained what it takes to go far in the playoffs to Max.
Max is now on #1 line

  15. Love our new GM…hate Keefe..only good thing he's done is put Domi and Tuzzi with Matthews 😉

  16. Next year will be a tough year it won’t be til the year after the leafs have cap space. Guaranteed Tavares re signs at like 6 mill-ish. I would be alright moving marner and using that money to keep domi and Bertuzzi long term hopefully Brad can convince them to stick around for another one year deal or something

  17. Even if the Leafs go on a playoff run this year – 1 in 9 is a poor playoff record anyway. Time to change out the Leafs Core 4. Why keep both Marner & Nylander @ $11 Million and the imbalance they bring to the overall Leaf Team structure? They are ok in regular season & just bottom 50% during the playoffs.😀

  18. Hopefully it means getting rid of Tavares – should never of got him! He is like Phaneuf, for every good play he makes, he make four or five bad plays that usually end possession of puck or end up in goal against Leafs. The could of kept Hyman, O'Reilly and/or Shen if he was gone. Never should have traded Kadri.

  19. If we have an early exit along with Edmonton we need to figure out how to get mcdavid in a leafs uniform as he will be available and Toronto is at the top of his list!!! Mark that down!!!
