Unless a team is winning championships, Mike shits on them. Is he playing it up for the radio or is he really this jaded and unable to be happy about anything? The negativity is really offputting at this point. It was fun when the Lions were a joke and the negativity was warranted but he refuses to enjoy anything unless it's championship caliber. I understand that the last 2 months have been profoundly disappointing and there's certainly things about the team I am not happy about, but if you told me at the start of the year that with 4 games left we would be 1 point out of the playoffs I would have taken that in a heartbeat. I think the team needs a better coach, I think they need to get rid of the bum vets they have and play the young guys, but I'm also excited to watch my team fight for the playoffs. They are right where we were expecting them to be at the start of the season. The Yzerplan does not hinge on making the playoffs this year. It hinges on the prospects hitting. Ed looks great, Augustine looks amazing, Cossa took a big step, Danielson is playing great, ASP is playing incredible, Kasper should be with the team next year. Add in Buchelnikov and/or Mazur and the team will be stacked with cheap contracts for years. It may be taking longer than we'd like, but Yzerman is trying to build a dynasty, not be the Minnesota Wild. Mike's hockey opinions aren't worth wiping your ass with.
A collapse is what it is. 5-12-2 their last 19 we had it made on our streak to only have busts along the way. Debrincat 1 goal his past 19 games, defensively averaging giving up 2 to 3 goals a game… inconsistent goaltending… we had it made and it's pain and agony these past 6 weeks for the wings. I had them out at the beginning of the season… we just are not ready it's that simple. Sign Mo and Raymond during the offseason… negotiate with Kaner! and let's look forward to next season! LGRW

I checked out on the Wings after that ridiculous 7 game losing streak.. getting they're ass kicked by Arizona, twice!! I'm done, Derek Lelonde needs to be fired!! He sucks & gives the most stupid press conferences!!
Yep I was in that game was exactly how I imagined the Red Wings remain competitive they over, to goal deficit, and then they completely become the flattest team ever in overtime, letting the Penguins beat them
