I completely blame the coach for not getting this team fired up! McCarty, you’re being WAY too nice to this coach and coaching staff. I’ve been saying he needs to go for almost two months! The coach has no emotion or temper. We need a real coach, like Herb Brooks to make the team play or go home attitude! 😤

Everybody needs to just chill! do we want a one and done championship team or do we want a dynasty that is contending for years to come? That is not accomplished in a short period of time.
Stevies work is starting to come to pass, I want a dynasty not a St Louis Blues, win the CUP then then disappear! Stay focused!
Kane shooting the puck as often as he used to would be great. He looks to pass way too much. We need a goal scorer. Shoot the puck, get the rebound. I expected a lot better.

Uh huh…with that logic Ausmus should have never been fired notwithstanding that was his first coaching job and he was a complete disaster. Lalonde is no better. Maybe nice guy but has completely lost the locker room and the players basically do what they want
Eh… we really don't have the guys, as evidenced. We have a $5 million dollar man playing bottom-6 because Stevie thought (and he had every reason to think this, so I don't blame him) he'd be better than he has been. We're paying $4 million to a defenseman whose sole purpose is to QB a power play unit. There are clearly some personnel issues that's gonna have to get resolved in the summer if we want to continue seeing forward movement. And to be extremely clear, I'm not blaming Stevie. I'm not blaming Lalonde. If we miss, it's on the boys themselves, and their inability to pick up the baton and run with it while our captain is out.
We are a good team. We're not a great team. The Isles might make it in by virtue of the loser point and get swept out, but we would only make it in barely and also get bounced relatively quickly. We made progress this season, and I'm happy to see it. You wanna know what sucks? Seeing a team like CBJ lay it all out there on the line, empty the cupboards in an attempt to win now, miss that mark entirely, and go right back to scraping the crap off the floor of the standings. That feels bad, and I'm damn glad Stevie isn't stupid enough to try a deadline splash like that.

It was bound to happend. After completely Fucking up that 8 point cushion they had in a WC spot.
Games like this, getting goalied were bound to happen.
Games losing twice to Arizona , 4 or 5 points more would have been nice to grab last month.

Even if they don't make the playoffs it's still the best hockey I've seen them play in 7 years. There were some really fun moments this year.
I blame the veterans not stepping up. the players who are supposed to be goal scorers not stepping up. questionable coaching with line combos and even not bringing up Edvinsson earlier. Stevie is to blame at some part by signing players like Perry, Holl, Reimer etc. these mediocre players being brought in proving they’re no help.
Here is my problem with the coaching and some of the players who are not stepping up to this point, McCarty. If the coach showed emotion at all on the bench and called a timeout to yell at the whole team after giving up 2 quick goals. Or if he pulled Lyon after a bad goal to wake up the team, then maybe I might like him more or could see he hates losing. I want to see players breathing so hard when they get back to the bench, become they have absolutely skated their asses from crashing the net shift after shift. If I could see the players absolutely doing everything they could to check every chance they get & block shots. I see us going around the net and avoiding the tough areas to score goals and then when they get there, they either hesitate to shoot or pass, then by the time they do, they usually pass, instead of taking the shot and going to the net for a rebound…or their supporting teammates going straight to the net for the rebounds. I do not see the heart in these players that are willing to skate straight down the middle to drive to the net, as if nothing will stop them. Make the opposing defense do everything they can to try and stop you. I don’t see the fire or raw determination from most of the players to score. I want to see the coach yelling at players and the players breaking their sticks over their knees when they blow a scoring chance. I want to see they are pissed at themselves or their teammates when they blow a game. I just don’t see anything from the coach or most of the players when they absolutely blow a game they should have won! If I see that fire from them and see they are doing EVERYTHING they can for the team, their fans, their coach and the winged wheel on the front of the jersey they represent and the city they play for…then I would not feel so bad when we lose. I see a lot of “no big deal” attitude from the coach especially, but I don’t see many players giving their every last ounce of strength to do what they can to win. Excuses is all I hear for them and the coach at the end of each lame interview they give. Every player sounds so monotone and say the same lame lackluster comments after each loss. I’m sick of these last 10 years or so of not calling out that the team sucked or the player saying they played terrible and they will play way better next game. There is no calling out that the other team got lucking or the refs screwed us, because no one is willing to pay a stupid fine or something. It’s ridiculous how Ball-less the coach is on himself or the team after the game. They need to call out their teammates, their couch, the couch call out the players or do whatever you have to get the team ready to win the next game. If you have to get everyone pissed at each other to get a fire under their ass to play better. I would be so happy to see anger and not all this lack of testosterone in these pathetic interviews after a game, when the whole team should have came out and ready to destroy the other team that is on our home ice!!! 😤😡😤😡 I just don’t see this team really trying to win and fix it the next game and the coach is a big part of that and the captain being ready to implement the coaches plan to the players that need to step up every shift. Why not go out and show every fan how much you want to win for them? I just don’t see everyone on the ice giving their all to win. Winning is all that matters. Of course you’re going to lose, but if everyone sees you did everything possible to win night in and night out, then the fans will support you so much more. I just don’t see anything from this coach Lalonde that he hates to lose. We need a couch that is brash with his comments and not all nice with his lame excuses. We need a coach that winning is all that matters. Call out the players that slacked in interviews and don’t be all politically correct in responses. I’m just sick of the lackluster performances and hardly any accountability taken for the lame offense that doesn’t shoot first and ask questions later mentality. 😤

I agree with Neal, the point for losing is bullshit. I’m okay with the Penguins making it but islanders and caps are garbage. No one wants to see those POS teams in the playoffs.

Ive watched almost every game the last three years. Fans head hunting after last night's game is exactly why i came to this video. I 100% agree with D Mac and wanted to hear him preach.
I thought they played good last night, especially compared to previous games. The main issue I saw was that they were taking way too many low percentage shots with zero traffic. Of course the goalie is going to make 45 saves when 90% of your shots come from the blue line with no screen.
