Comment your thoughts… Tom Wilson does have the history. I’m sure he could use Trouba’s swing as a reference for an argument. This one seems worse as Gregor was unsuspecting and direct face contact, but everyone can debate in the comments. I was expecting at least 3-4 games. After the in person hearing, we knew it’d be at least 5

He deserved the suspension. Six games has more to do with his own checkered past. Absolutely terrible decision by him.
I think 6 games is perfect it was clearly intentional and a full swing like a baseball batter, I don’t think should be more or less NHL got it right 6 games is fair.
6 games would've been good for someone with no history. Wilson should've got 10-15

I missed the game, and am only seeing this now! As a Leafs fan myself, I think this is a huge DOPS L. This is indeed as blatant as the Trouba incident a while back. This needed to be a 10 game suspension at minimal, so therefore I'm obviously fuming like every other fan on both sides. I wouldn't have cared if it was 15 games, but this is absolutely ridiculous.

10 game suspension minimum, in my opinion. I don't hate Tom Wilson, I respect a lot about the way he plays actually, but not this. That was some intentional screwed up stuff right there.
Six games suspension is actually the bare minimum for the type of offence.
Considering his history of prior fines and suspensions (7 to 20 games for boarding and hitting player’s heads), this is one of the least amount of games (if not the actual least/most lenient) he’s been suspended for.
I wonder if the nature of the offence has nothing to do with the verdict but it was more about the percentage of the remaining games in the season.

Wilson History of his past and of his recklessness has not stopped so when do say that it was attempt to injure ? @HotTakeHockey I see it as deliberate to the head like McSorley slash to Brashear the only thing miss was Wilsons 2nd hand . and on top of it all if Gregor didn't have a visor on could of been way worse .
“Wreckless” implies accidental. The way he pulls back to leverage the most momentum implies intent. This was just straight vicious. Should have got 12 games or more

What scares me about this is it reminds me of rage that comes out when he doesn’t act like he had any control over it, but the truth is is that this is the kind of shit that comes out at home and there’s been rumors of him with domestic violence, and I wouldn’t question that for a second.
didnt look intentional, just looked careless and reckless. i dont think wilson is out there to hurt people intentionally, hes just an agressive player playing in what is becoming a soft league. this is no where near to marty mcsory i think his name was back in the day or todd butuzzi incidents.
