''Vancouver Canucks GM Jim Benning said to the media earlier last week that the team's direction will involve them going after scoring, speedy veteran leadership forwards.''
That's pretty much Byron…
Didn’t Montreal put him on waivers earlier this year?
The Rodney Dangerfield of hockey…no respect. I love Byron. The game has come to him and he deserves all the good that comes to him. KEEP IT GOING BOYS!!!
He might not be the biggest, he might not be the most skilled, but he is legit one of the fastest skaters in the league.
He’s literally so fast that people have to dive just to try and trip him so that he doesn’t get a breakaway.
If he had more scoring talent, he’d be a star in the league.
The Habs put Byron and Perry on waivers this year.
Blows my mind no one picked any of them up.
Ti-Paul.
Pauley Waivers might just be the best waiver pickup of all time.
paul breakaway byron is a beast. heart in thhe right place. good man, great hockey player
Doesn’t look good on Bergevin and the Habs to place him on waivers and risk losing him for nothing earlier this year. They lucked out big time that he wasn’t claimed.I get that salary cap is the main reason he was waived but if they agreed with you about him being one of the best waiver wire pickups, they would have waived someone else.Clearly they didn’t.In any case Glad it worked out for Byron.Good hard working player.
I think that the nightmares that Brad Treliving is having are going to get worse. Byron has been CLUTCH for the Habs, this postseason.
Yes he is
Mr speedy Gonzalez!!! Great player he is a small man that plays like a big man. Love this guy.
ti paul 😎
Clutch Byron.
Habsolutly !
Imo, Paul Byron is pure speed and good hands. Not the best hockey IQ. Shoots a lot from afar, rarely pass for a better play. But good in pk due to his speed. Good leader, good attitude, never complains. I'll take it. But honestly, I'd prefer someone else playing with KK.
The Real Playoff P
One of the deciding factors as to why the Habs picked up Byron was actually a fan made video of him missing breakaways. They recognized the speed and the rest is history. Not even making it up
Byron has always been good for Montreal. Hes an humble, hard working player whos also very responsible on the ice and is a great role model in term of respect for the game.
He reminds me of one of the Courtnal brothers Geoff or Russ. Both of them were not big scorers but streaky scorers . Byron fast speedy go to the net clutch performances is a very good piece that MB picked up. Yes it feels like shades of 93' Even 94 a bit . But we as Canadians did not like The outcome there. But 93' was a Goodyear for the Bubly 😉🍸🍹🍷🥂🍻🍺🤸♂️🤾♀️
Would like to thx the flames…
Fleury played that Byron break-away badly. Kolosar was blocking Byron on his forehand, so Byron's only option was his backhand. All Fleury had to do was square-up to Byron's stick blade and it would have been a relatively easy save.
He used to be an impact player flesh from the Flames then cool off until this year's Playoffs. Many fans had asked to have him trade and then placed on waiver wire. Could be a grave mistake if another team claimed him then. Anybody 's game now. Only God know Habs could take 2 home games and another one at Vegas to complete the cycle. It's not impissible.
he played his junior in Gatineau, Quebec so he was bound to be a habs I guess
Thank you u/galaxy
Paul Byron is a true professional 👏 all season his name was on trade talks for cap space frequently healthy scratched in favor of other players keeps his mouth shut and has an A on his jersey because of his leadership and dedication
Paul Byron is sneaky good.
paul byron is not a big of a bonehead move as it was to let martin st louis go , But yeah we have mangiapane and gaudreau as small players and a few young prospects who are smaller than 5 10
Did you see his play on the OT goal last night ? Wished you made this video today instead hahah
He also scored in game 4 and if Price shuts the Knights out in the third he has another potential game winner.
