We need to talk about Crosby AGAIN

Sidney Crosby continues to live up to his generational hype as he’s now tied with Gretzky for one of the craziest stats of all time. The Pittsburgh Penguins also made a crazy comeback against the Devils to keep their slim playoff chances alive. That and more in today’s NHL hockey video!

  1. What a legend…going forward let's be honest, the man is on three cups already, he's not going to leave here in FA.

As for the Pens in general, I don't know what to make of them at this point. Not even two weeks ago I was hoping they'd just tank because we could use that top-10 pick this year (if our 1st is not a top-10, San Jose gets it from a conditional trade). But this has always been a team that if they sneak into the playoffs, anything can happen.

  2. Why is no one talking about Sid's empty net goal? He is the only player in the league whose hockey IQ is so off the charts that could score like that.

  3. Sadly, if he didn't hit that few week period of post Guentzel trade depression, he probably would have had 50 and 100 this year.

  4. Fun fact, Crosby is the ONLY player in NHL history to be OVER a point per game for 19 seasons. Gretzky got exactly 1.00 ppg his 16th year, but wasn't over 1. Sid's always been over 1.00, he's just adding on to his own record there

  5. The Penguins need to trade him while he still has decent value. The team is cooked and needs to rebuild.

  6. We have been spoiled. Mario to Jagr to Sid? Sid is 4 points away from being 10th all time in points. He is 3 assists away from 1,000. Sid is 1 goal away from 40 on the season. He has only hit the 40 goal mark twice in his career (2009 & 2016). I am a pens fan but i cannot see it where the pens get into the playoffs. I still think the flyers find a way to get in.

  7. It’s crazy watching all the years of two legends of Crosby and Ovi I’d love to see him take points while Ovi takes goals but if he wants to retire on a good note I don’t blame him either

  8. Best player since Gretzky. MacKinnon is a great 2 way player, but McDavid is King of The Hill these days.

  9. Let me just say it has been an absolute pleasure being a Penguins fan. Sid is a class act. The haters like to chirp, but he just tied the great one. When you catch Gretzky you are doing it something right. He is the best man on the ice day in and day out. Hats off Sid.

  10. Just when I'd accepted that the Pens were, most likely, going to end up with a top five lottery pick, they go and screw that up with a winning streak, going 4-0-2 in their last six games. What the hell?

  11. It has been such a weird year for the Pens. They usually play well against the better teams but very lacklustre against the average and lower ranked teams.

  12. Gretzky did not get 19 consecutive PPG seasons, he was 19 total. Sid is 19/19 consecutive. The GOAT strikes again.

  13. Fwiw, Gretzky had one season with 48 in 48, so Sid has the record for seasons with more than 1 PPG.

  14. Leaving in incredible times getting to watch Ovie and Crosby’s careers. Akin to being able to watch Ronaldo and Messi during the same period. We as sports fans have been privileged being able to watch these guys play
