Things seem to be playing out just like i thought they would. Not extending a qualifying offer just means they are afraid of his arbitration rights. He played great this year and especially during the playoffs. It is clear they don't want to get locked into a contract that Stetcher deserves but they can't afford to give him. He will get snapped up fairly quickly after the bigger names get done like Tanev, Markstrom and Tofolli get signed to other teams probably on Friday. Like i predicted the Canucks will be gutted for sure by Friday. Jim Benning will have to be aggressive to make it back into the playoffs the nest season. Very likely they will have to trade Boeser this season to get back in but may try to make it back in with him in the lineup. I still expect that they will need to sign a lot of one year deals with proven unwanted players. With no Markstrom i don't think they can make the playoffs next season even though Demko was good this year and probably can make the leap to number one goalie. They problem is a young guy being thrust into the number one role is going to need a reliable back up that can win his share of the games, and they don't have one ready yet. Losing three of their steady defensmen in Tanev, Stetcher and Fantenburg means they are going to be challenged on the back end as well. Next year is shaping up to be a bad one, even though every one of the talking heads are predicting the Canucks are going to be great going forward. They are not to good at predicting as we can all see, as most of them predicted the Canucks would not have scoring this past season and wouldn't make the playoffs. It is kinda fun watching how this all plays out though. We will see. Best wished to all the Canucks that are going to be finding new homes after Friday, you were great and will be missed.

Trade Virtanen for free to get rid of Benn in same trade. Looks like we are stuck with Loui, sutter, roussel Big contract. Benning wake up. If they sign OEL they have to get Loui contract to Arizona and then we cant sign fanta.

Canucks made the right move with Stecher. Hopefully he gets picked up by some team soon.
