The New Jersey Devils pissed away any hopes of the playoffs tonight, losing to the Pittsburgh Penguins by a score of 6-3 at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
The Devils failed to protect a 3-1 lead in the 3rd period.
Completely inexcusable.

how many times since November did I say this team is atrocious and no Saros will save it unless the defense is sorted. Niether Vitek nor Schmid no Daws is the problem. Get the Defense sorted. Thats THE MAIN AND THE BIGGEST problem. Then grit and size of the players. And of course FITZGERALD!!!
I feel your pain on this loss. But do us all a favor and never compare Crosby to sorry-ass ledouche James. Compare him to a hockey goat, like Lemieux or Gretzky. I'm glad I'm a way. The way this "team" broke down ESPECIALLY goal tending, only proves it's missing some key pieces. Bottom 6 depth, Solid Dman and of course a goalie that can shut the door. Hopefully Mac smashes Rempe tomorrow

Its 100% over. This was the worst loss of the season. To completely collapse in the third period is unacceptable and disgusting. This is a weak team, cant get pucks out of their own end…smh
Honestly, no offense to you but it is hard listening after a bunch of losses, but the Timo Meier song is the only thing I can look forward to.
In the draft we need someone who has heart and compete level just can’t compete
I don’t think we can blame Jake Allen for this loss even though they scored 6 goals on him. Not his best performance, but definitely don’t think he is to blame for this loss. I still think he is a solid goaltender and should be backup next season.

Jokes aside. Itd be nice to see a 60 minute game. I love Nico as captain but i imagine he may need to be more demanding to get set the standard higher in the room. Either that or we have to bring in a hard coach. I think there's too much talents without any glaring contracts to blow it up. And most are long term contracrs making them hard to move. Hopefully its just a growing pains year

With this game, my concern about this season starts to bleed into next season. These problems may be too large to fix in one offseason.
Game was good until the third period. It was an absolute kick in the nuts in the third period. This team has to go back to the drawing board. Always coming out so flat will cost you every time and it has time and time again. Something needs to change this off-season. This team has too much talents, to just waste it away.
Siegs is awful. Marino's regression is pathetic. Smith brings down everyone he plays with. Dude it's nuts. What are we not seeing that keeps Marino, siegs, Smith in the line up over Nicky D, hatakka or shit even foote. I dunno man, we are not professional coaches but wtf

I love that neon light. Was there tonight. Another game just given away. When the Pens made it 2-3, I knew that was the end. Too uncomfortably close and you could already sense the deflation. 3rd period put nail after nail in our coffin. Why scratch DeSimone and send back Hatakka. So many questions. So few answers.
