Are Leafs better equipped to beat Panthers in playoffs this season?

TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button joins SC with Jay Onrait to share his thoughts on whether the Maple Leafs are better prepared this year to beat the Panthers in the playoffs and if they can possibly catch Florida in the standings to steal home ice advantage for the first round of the playoffs.

  1. Leafs lead 5 – 1 at one point last night. The game ended 6 -4. I wouldn't make the mistake of thinking that, even for a second, the Leafs could beat the Panthers in the playoffs. They made that mistake last year. Toronto has to do a better job of stepping up and figuring out a way to match the intensity of other teams when they have the lead against them.

  2. The panthers are built for the playoffs. They've proven themselves. The leafs are NOT built for the playoffs. They've proven that. They will not beat Florida. Until Toronto gets there defense and goalie situation figured out there not going to make it past the first round. They need a new coach too. No offense to keefe but he's NOT a playoff coach.

  3. if they play like they did last night. physical, balanced scoring. Coupled by Florida's poor defensive coverage in their own end . Then yes. Maybe?
