REVIEW. Post-Game Recap: Oilers 2, Blues 3 (OT)

It was a tough night for the #oilers tonight in St Louis as the #blues walk away with a 3-2 OT victory. Edmonton had two goals disallowed, the Blues first goal was also challenged but the goal stood. Connor McDavid managed to record another assist to move closer to 100 on the year and Stuart Skinner was solid in net. I will have much more to talk about in tomorrow’s Day After Discussion video.

  1. Just listened to Stu’s post game interview, he said he felt interfered with and I trust the player. Good on the Oilers for grabbing a point against the Blues+Refs tonight. Should be a great game Wednesday

  2. Hey refs how obvious are you?? You really wanted the blues win that one. Refs you suck all season pathetic!! Great Effort Oilers can’t beat the refs.

  3. Man theses refs and rules don't make fucking sense and it pisses me off when Hyman nicks the goalie and still moved and he was behind the net when nuge put it into the 5 hole and the goalie had time to move.. but when there's more contact to the stick and pad and that counts as a goal… like am I missing something, we have the technology to see 360 dagree angle shot to see tight puck plays and they look on a 10 inch tablet so i agree with that

  4. This game almost hurt my Brian Austin very disappointed on those goals called back terrible refs didn't make the right choice but we got that point so I think were glad that we didn't give up at the end so I'm happy were still catching up in the stands but I feel like 1st place will hurt the canucks in 1st Round ounce they win the presidents trophy as they enter at Home against a St Louis or Nashville team cause like history repeats it self over & over & over again like last year when Boston bruins were a Fan Favorite to go all in for the Cup but they get embarrassed by a Wild card Florida Panthers. So I'd stick with 2nd place to face against Vegas in Round 1 of the Playoffs dude no way St Louis is on my draft pool lol 😂

  5. Is this the kind of officiating of Canadian teams ? Betman may get his wish if this continues. IMO too many bad calls, not all were wrong.

  6. I've lost all respect sorry this is absolutely rigged for money… Or ratings in not sure which. I won't be silent . Just saw it live sry

  7. Canucks fan here. Was listening to it on the radio. St louis broadcaster thought it would be no goal for st.louis . Cause it was same exact play from edmonton

  8. dunno if you’re gonna read this, but i really like the punchy all caps first few words in the title

  9. 6 hours later and I’m still hot under the collar at the officiating. That really sucked, I don’t even know what “goaltender interference” even is anymore. At least we got a point, it wasn’t all bad. Oh well, on to Dallas

  10. Only Ekholm had a good game, Draisaitl scored 1 goal but too many bad passes and too many penalties and lost most of the faceoffs, Hyman was "ok", McDavid (-1) was just average and made 1 good pass, Bouchard played poorly on the blue line. Kane's 5+2 penalty broke the Oilers' game. Most of the Oiler team are mediocre players who score on big holidays. 😝 McLeod just another mediocre player to blame for OT loss🤪

This Oilers game is not the game expected from Cup contenders.😇

  11. I stayed passed my work bedtime to watch us lose ouch. Refs in that building always favour blues. Every time we come in. Nuge goal should have counted, Bennington pads only moved open after Hyman was far away

  12. Good calls on both. Binnington had contact that pushed him more to the post and he cant recover in literally 1 second. Skinner just felt a tap on the pad but there was nothing that prevented him from making a save

  13. St louis guy here so I know Im gonna get roasted here. I feel bad about this one because, after you showed that stick flex, yeah, it was interference. I wonder if the refs had that angle.
I think the call against the Oilers on the first one had more to do with Hyman pulling Binnington's stick away as he skated past the net. I've noticed the more often call back goals where they interfere with the goalies stick than pads.
I do think if the Oilers hadnt challenged they would have won the game as they were the much better team. The Blues only asset, aside from Binnington, is their powerplay. The Oilers were the much better team, and after St Louis lost to SJ, I know they wont make the playoffs.
I find the conspiracy guys on here pretty funny. Maybe for NYR or Chicago, but the nhl doesnt give a rat's arse about a small market like stL. They'd much rather have Vegas or LA in the wildcard slots.
Oilers, at least youre in the playoffs, unlike the blues. Missing the playoffs barely is the worst of everything: no cup chance, no high draft pick, no playoff gates.
I wish the Oilers well. I hope you cream Dallas. I hope you win the cup for McDavid' s sake.

  14. I did not think Kane's goal was above the crossbar, Nugent-Hopkins goal wasn't goaltender interference, if that was interference then so was the St. Louis goal. Oh well, they need to be able to overcome that kind of adversity as it will happen in the playoffs as well.

  15. I was ok with the call until I seen the bend in the sticks…i know a little contact can interrupt when you're trying to do but you got to fight through it.
This is a pitchfork and should have been disallowed
