So what are our record in 5pm games this year? Feels like they’re not our jam.

Seemed like the boys just didn’t want to get firing that game, and given we’ve clinched playoffs and securing 1st in the division isn’t as crucial as it might have been in other years, I’m not surprised it seems like they’re not firing on all cylinders.
Coupling that with getting goalied hard (which can realistically happen with anyone, fucking Blackwood on the Sharks stood on his head in that game against us early in the season), and that’s a loss written in the stars.
I’d rather the boys see out the season with no injuries and risk missing out on a few more points, than see them go all out and walk into the playoffs tired or hurt.
Where’s Nuke, we need him 🙁

Almost 50 shots and it didn’t seem like there was much risk to any of them. I think teams have figured out if they can’t skate with the top two lines they just clog the middle with bodies to take away the Makar high slot/point shots and push Mackinnon wide and let him try to work from the edges all day. Could still have some success if you have a net front presence to clean up rebounds and give redirects but with Nichuskin out we really don’t have that. Just shows how integral he is to making the Avs system work.
I thought Drouin skated really hard yesterday but he was pushing way too much and he isn’t Mackinnon. Several bad turnovers just trying to dance around.
