Eichel spearing on Kaprizov – Have your say!

Jack Eichel was given a major penalty and a game misconduct for spearing on Kirill Kaprizov. After review the call was upheld and Eichel was kicked out of the game. Was it the right call? Have your say!

  1. Obvious, blatant, has nothing to do with hockey. Should be 6+. Will probably get time served because he's a "superstar". Surprised it wasn't called 2 for slashing like it normally is. Points to the refs at least for calling it correct.

  2. Same thing i was gonna say. It really is obvious it was intentional. But i just want to point out its similar to the Benn croshcheck to Stone in last year's playoffs in that it was intent to harm. Difference being that its not playoff game and hes not on top of Kirill. Stone fell that time and from what everyone saw was Benn on top of him which looked way worse than it actually was. Anyway Eichel sort of hooks him, the angle makes it a spear. Right call to make and yes it is a dirty play no matter which way you look at it

  3. Eichel could have kept his stick down, he sees kaprizov coming. As for suspension id give him the two games minimum

  4. Didn’t really look intentional as you see the look on Eichel’s face after the ref saying 5 minute major.

  5. It’s most definitely intentional. Look at his right hand movement just before his stick makes contact. His right hand moves towards Kaprizov as he skates by. If it was an accident his hand would have remained as-is close to his body.
