‘Why Don’t I Like David Pastrnak?’ – Mike Felger
Bruins win last night David poso we with a hat trick we throw your hats on the ice we throw your Bruin’s Shaw you see that thing the guy thrw on the ice what was that what do you call that again I don’t even know what that was it looked
Like someone skinned a bear it’s like a headdress yeah yeah it’s a Bruins headress uh Shaw whatever we throw that on the ice david bosar takes a picture with it at we pasta for three servings of pasta last night okay you want at least it wasn’t one of those uh
Fugazi empty net at least it wasn’t it into an empty net with a two- goal lead right with him throwing him out there stat humping okay David poso big boy you got to help me with David poso David poso with that hat trick last night climbs into seventh all time on the
Bruins goal scoring list seventh he’s 27 and he’s already in seventh and this list has so much Integrity that I I I just you’re bothered by him being this close to the top number one Johnny buk because he played 21 years here in Boston I don’t consider Johnny buk the
Greatest alltime Bru score I consider Phil bazito the greatest all times Bruin score but buk is first with 545 second Esposito third berson fourth Middleton fifth marshand sixth bour seventh poock eighth Neely that’s a list that’s a good list and posh’s right there at 27 he’s gonna pass bour next year
Is he’s coming after Marian in short order he’s GNA get to Middleton he’s gonna get to berson well Mike to put another way you said he’s 27 say he retires when berson does 10 years from now he’s going to be number one he should be I mean gez if he if he plays
Another 10 years here Murray yeah you said Buck’s 545 if he’s at this pace he’ll drop a little bit as he get gets give him an average of 25 goals a year for 10 years 250 yeah that gets him yeah oh yeah yeah yeah so you can already say at
27 he is one of the great goal scorers in Bruins history uh he’s one of the elite goal scorers in the National Hockey League the last three seasons beginning in 2021 to now last three seasons goal leaders in the HL Austin Matthews 1 David pook two the last five seasons if you want
Take it back the last five seasons leaders and goals in the NHL Austin Matthews won Leon Dr idle two with 215 David poo three with 213 he’s probably going to catch him in the last two years the NHL leader in goals from the beginning of last season to now David poock one Austin
Matthews 2 you have one of the great goal scorers in the National Hockey League currently you have one of the all-time great goal scorers in Boston Bruins history already and he’s just 27 why don’t I like him because he’s never won why don’t I like him because he’s go ahead Greg why
Don’t I believe that they’re going to win a cup with them or why don’t I when when I you know this is the thing that you we previously for the last whatever 20 years when you talk Bruins hockey the number one call you get is yeah they
Need a goal score how are they going to get a score they need a goal score he’s going to put some that they need someone to put the puck in the net falga they need a goal scorer well now they’ve got like the elite goal scorer in the league
Like one of the top three guys at putting the puck in the net in the league currently and in all times Brewing history frankly and why don’t I feel like he’s going to lead him to a cup because and I’m just just guessing don’t shoot the messenger my my interpretation of what
You believe is he doesn’t make his teammates better he’s not one of those players he’s more like oetkin and those guys can more of a shooter goal scorer and those guys can be limited during the postseason and I’ll add sloppy with the puck dumb turnovers you’ve railed against that now
For going on the last few seasons and rightfully so and when it comes to the postseason more often than not he’s completely disappeared so he disappeared proportions that Florida Series last year he woke up at the end and it was just a little late uh he was zeros across the board I
Thought he was garbage in the middle of that Florida series and if you remember in game six uh down there and this is right when it’s like you know where’s poso wake up you know everyone all the pasta babies out there the the uh the footy pajama
Bruins fans even they got a little agitated with David poso and I want to say it was the first period but early on in that game six in Florida he put the puck between his legs and scored a goal that was I thought the balls ballsiest goal of his career if
You I don’t know if you remember the goal or not and like that’s one of the few times I looked at him I went oh oh okay here we go big night big game a lot of pressure there you are and he scored two goals that night and they lost but
You wouldn’t put it on him he was a minus one in the game even though he scored those two goals and then he scored what should have been the go-ahead goal in the third Peri period in game seven so he woke up at the end but there’s just been times where he
Just isn’t there in the postseason is that cuz he’s a wing and not a center Greg maybe I don’t know what it is Patrick Kane it was a wing right he’s a wing not a center I didn’t feel that way about Patrick Kane he showed up in big
Games was a factor in them winning Stanley Cups in playoff series so David poso in terms of goal scoring is Patrick Kane’s equal he’s that productive you you couldn’t ask you could hardly ask for more productive goal score than David poso that’s it this is it he’s the
Guy when it comes to that he’s incredible I I I think that you know when you watch pasta over you know the course of seasons and this season like you just you worry about the games where he seems to be not focused that he’s not into it that he’s not there and then
Other games where he’s completely dialed in and he’s incredible I mean I think overall he’s he’s just an incredible goal scorer he deserves to be on that list but in terms of a top flight we’re relying on this guy he’s going to lead our our team to a cup you just you worry
Whether he can do that or not big time so uh he’s now at 41 goals for the year he has now hit the 40 goal Mark three straight times Neely never did that the last guy to have a 40-goal season three straight years was Middleton in 1984 I
Think was the third of the three years so it’s been 40 years since a a bruan has scored like this that consistently he’s already you know he’s surpass Neely as a goal scorer I mean just as a pure goal scorer I mean of course obviously as a hockey player
We would all take Cam Neely 10 times out of 10 as a goal scorer poso is already greater than Cam Neely and yet I just have this reservation about this player I just I’ve not fully bought in to David Bok he I find myself more agitated with him
Than I am happy with him that that goal he scored in Florida last year in game six that first goal was balls that was the beans that’s a you know like that’s one of the few times I say like okay you got me uh but I find myself wanting I find myself watching
David posnock and wanting more than I feel satisfied with him is that a me problem or is that a no because it’s I mean his game it’s like it’s fun you don’t like this like there’s not much substance behind it really it’s like it’s like boobs and lip filler like okay
What else you got like you know like what else can you bring to the table here you know he can be a defensive liability he turns the puck over he disappears I’m trying to desper it’s all fake boobs and champagne which I like both of them I like both of those things
But eventually you need a little bit more but you know yeah yeah and eventually need a little more sometimes you just go ahead Murray I’m not going to the analogy as we’re talking here cuz I’m trying to desperately find what his numbers were in that that cup final
Against the blues but I remember he was like nothing yeah I got here let’s see what he did against uh St Louis ER one goal two goals two goals in the seven game series and I want to say he scored in game seven but how could that
Have they were down was it oh that game was over and it was like two nothing exactly trash if he scored in that game I I have to go back and oh no no no no I’m looking at backwards so he scored in game one and he scored in game whatever
That is five in game seven 0000 0us two okay there you go unless I’m looking at that backwards I think I’m looking at that backwards no if I remember correctly he was part of the problem too yeah g game s0000 minus two yes that’s it sorry about that yes
So uh and then uh yeah I mean I mean what can I tell you I I I just I don’t go into a big game with David poso and say he’s gonna he’s gonna carry I just I never feel that way so again is that my
Problem or is that his problem or is that whose problem is that it’s usually my problem you can tell me that 6 17779 0985 one more thing did you watch lenus alark last night Greg I thought he was awesome thoughts I what they’re doing at
The at the at the goal tender spot is uh obviously you know interesting and and I’ve heard you rail against it and the goldie platoon and all that stuff um I just think you have to go with the hot hand I I cannot see them after a game
Like tonight going back to San in the playoffs it’s just you not going to happen you have to ride the hot guy if if you know if exhaustion becomes part of the equation for them during the series because of the workload because they haven’t had it during the regular
Season okay I’m not going to overdo it especially with a guy who ended up didn’t Omar get hurt last playoff series sure did like and he kept playing that cannot happen again like you know just like with Tuka at the end it can’t happen so they’re going to have to
Monitor these guys but you can’t just eliminate the hot hand you can’t just say you’re going to do the platoon is clearly better than Swan right now and has been post All-Star break get to the postseason do I trust him no cuz there’s there’s some Raskin we saw there with
Him last year fake win fake last night don’t buy it come on the Ottawa Senators you know they’ve been outscored seven to nothing in the third period their last two games who’s that Senators they’re trash I think they’re in last place if not they’re second it’s them in Columbus
Or whatever they’re down there they blow and I didn’t think the Bruins play particularly well in the first couple of periods of this game they were like a little kid playing with their food no no noar alar kept him in it yeah the second period for sure like he was on his head
He was great five on three they had at one point allmark was terrific Ottawa in mid-march you’re going to buy that like oh he’s playoff ready here comes all Mark you’re really G to take that banana in the tail pip like come on like we’ve been here before haven’t we act like
You’ve been there before you’re GNA take the cheese on Lena almark a mid-march game against Ottawa come on please so according to the schedule and they have a back toback coming up but you got the Rangers tomorrow Saturday Flyers they’re trash then the Panthers and lightning
Back to back oh they’re so San will go against the Rangers olark will go against the Flyers and then San again against the I’d like to seear go well I mean right now so look I mean cust F swan has given up 10 goals in his last two games you can’t play
That in the playoffs you can’t have a guy given up see this what I say about the platoon it’s like oh the guy gave up five goals each of his last two games but it’s his turn you’re going to play him no you’re not no you’re not like don’t
Give me that and again this is when I get a little nutty it’s like no but you promis me a platoon so God dang it we’re gonna have a platoon whether you like it or not five goals a game that guy’s in there cuz you said we’re doing a platoon
Like this is where I get nuts and get like a little maniacal about the thing but now I’m talking like a human being if your goalie is given up five goals a night you can’t play him in the postseason so it’s just another example of how the the platoon thing kind of impractical
Mike Felger, Greg Bedard and Jim Murray react to the Boston Bruins 6-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators.

He’s literally carrying them offensively. This take alone should expose Felger for being a Ahole. Look at his linemates this year. It’s his best year.
Pastrnak is a point per game in the playoffs. Ovechkin also was incredible in the postseason when he was in his prime, i might add. Had 50 points in 37 games until 10-11. And 27 in 24 when Washington won the cup.
You gotta take 🍝 linemates into account. The fact that he's producing at this level is incredible, he's 27 and i have no doubt that he's contributing to winning when it matters. I just feel like there are some teams that are better right now and very hard to beat in a 7 game series, but how is that his fault?
What?
I always said Felger Mazz don’t know basketball and football but they know hockey and baseball. Wow I was wrong. They don’t know anything.
This team is 10 points out of the playoffs without Pastrnak. Pastrnak has carried this offensively anemic team on his back all year. Yet Felger is complaining about him. Smh. Felger is a glorified shock jock. He knows very little about sports. He just wants people to love him or hate him. They tune in either way when it's like that. He sucks. And Mazz is even worse.
Neely never won. Bourque either. It's a dumb argument.
I agree with Felger. I'm not a big Pastrnak fan either. He is kind of a copycat of Ovechkin.
All he really cares about is goal stats. I hate the stupid (Pasta) gimmick also.
Pasta is having his best yr he is playing more of a 200ft game felger wake the f up.
Did Kane carry the Hawks? Or was it Toews?
You don’t like him because he’s soft. We hate soft guys.
For a guy that hates nicknames and callers referring to players by nicknames (Wheee! Pasta!"), why does he refer to his wife as The Wood?
Pastarnak is great. Felger just hates most of the living world.
Not a Bruins fan, but Pastrnak has 79 points in 77 playoff games. What the hell are these dudes on about.
Why do these guys have to find something to be negative about. Have these dudes ever been happy with Boston sports? This is why I hardly listen anymore. Just 4 hours of bitching.
Calling out Pasta for his playoff permeance is a stretch. He had 5 goals in 7 games vs Florida. Coyle, zacha, Frederick had 2 total. Does what you need him to do in the playoffs.
Hey Mike, suck it
How many cups did Neely lead the B’s to??? He’s 27. MJ did not win his first championship til he was 28. Does Pastrnak have flaws? Yeah sure he does with sloppy passes here and there. But give me a break about the Florida series that was not a Pasta problem. Guys, it’s a you problem.
This season he showed he's not just a goal scorer, he's great at passing too. He has more assists than goals this season.
He doesn't disappear in the post season. Ask Toronto what they think of him?
Pasta has 99 points, Marchant is next with 61. He is literally carrying this team offensively.
I usually like Felger's Bruins takes but this is terrible. He's single-handedly carried our offense this year that would otherwise be anemic without him, not to mention with a very below average 1C. His playoff record is solid with over a point per game, and he took what in this market is a team friendly deal especially with the cap going up. He's become way more mature, shown by the A on his sweater, and his playmaking has also been unreal this year with 55 assists the most of career already. He's not the problem.
