[Koshan] Sandin on his first return: “It’s going to be a lot of fun. A lot of excitement coming back here, to play in this arena again. I had a great time (with the #Leafs), I loved my time here. Nothing but great memories. Toronto will always be a special place for me and my family.”

I was going to get a Sandin Jersey if they re-signed him

I never even thought Sandin was anything special but that trade was fucking abysmal

and before everyone goes on about Cowan, please spare me the nonsense. Leafs don’t need another pipsqueek player who might be a serviceable 3rd liner in 4 years.

Now queue all the delusional Leaf fans who over rate the shit out of every single prospect they have

“I can’t wait to start hammering people. A lot of vengeance coming back here, to play in this arena again. Dubas shouldn’t have traded me. Nothing but vengeance on my mind. Toronto is going down.”

  4. Class act especially considering his tough exit.

    **Question for the board:**

Sandin and his buddy Liljegren have always been comparable since they are both Swedish defenseman who came into the league at around the same time and both have potential to be pretty good NHLers. The “who is better” debate went on for quite some time when they both played for the Leafs. Sandin seemed to have more offensive prowess, but Lilegren seemed to have a better overall game – most fans tended to like Lilegren a tad more (at least informally based on the comments on this board and other hockey forums). It seems the Leafs felt that way as well as they traded Sandin and kept Lilegren.

The question is this: Sandin recently signed a $23,000,000 million dollar deal for 5 years (Cap hit of **4.6 Million**). Liljegren is due for a new contract next year – should his deal be for a similar cap hit?
