If I was the NHL commissioner, I would make his penalty a 2 man advantage for the remainder of the game unless Anaheim gets penalized or Chicago scores shorthanded. His penalty would be a slashing major because he slashed the player thrice before the whistleblower stopped play.

A slash is a slash and loss of puck possession has nothing to do with the call. This is exactly why refs are losing control of so many games.
