Remember When I Was Wrong About Elias Pettersson?

Since the internet wants to remind me, I donned my Tool shirt to talk about it.

  1. I was very high on Pettersson in 2017, so I get to pat myself on the back for that.

Unfortunately, I was also very low on Cale Makar, so….

  2. Remember when I said after watching Pettersson ONCE…
"He'll win the Calder easily if he stays healthy"?
I don't listen to ANY of the so-called "experts".
You should try it. It's so much fun when you get to
    laugh at all of them.

  3. What if Jagr never took a hiatus from the NHL? What if Mario never had cancer, or had a healthy back? What if Lindros had no concussions? What if Crosby never got injured/concussed? What if…. No one can predict every variable.

  4. Mostly americans/canadians who usually doubbt european players… even though the Swedish hockey league is way better then OHL and the NCAA league cuz you play grown men and alot of former NHL's.

  5. if you look at pre season draft rankings at age 16, 17 and then pre-draft.. you will understand that the following years for the drafted players is a lottery in itself. unless you a clear NHL talent taken top 5, there isnt much to it. you can only hope the player gets a good coaches during his draft year + 2 too really see where the player is at.

  6. I read two articles before the draft that he might be the best player in the draft which got me to look at some of his highlights. His skill wowed me. I thought they could be right. But I think they had his weight at 154. Thin as a rail. So I questioned if he could ever get the weight to play at the NHL level. Even after I saw great skill, he still seemed to thin to really dominate. Great players have high hockey IQ. He does great for his weight and just keeps getting better like Hughes. All the negativity was his weight. Believe it or not this is how I envisioned Pettersson. I just did not think it would happen, and Hughes is better than advertised. For a little while I thought he finally hit the wall and he would not get better. I think he is one of the better two way players in the league. They can steal pucks pretty good. Now I question his ceiling. How much better can he get? I was sort of happy we got him. But he answered the bell his rookie season. And thinking that they are not building around him. I feel much better now. One more good defender and we could make a run. First have to get off to a better start.

  7. the one good move our gm made other then hughes lol i couldnt imagine our team without those 2 …. i hope they both stay for a long time, i have a feeling petey will, swedes have the history of been super loyal to our city not sure why but im not complaining n im sure rutherford told hank n danny to give petey "the talk" LOL

  8. A lot of reasoning when the real reason is the Americans/Canadians always overrate their own players
But instead of admitting that u rather go with the logic other Americans where also stupid so I’m not stupid
