I fully understand this team is probably out of the playoffs but if they go 8-2 and don’t lose to Detroit, Washington, Philadelphia and Tampa, I still think there’s a slight chance to make it in with 89 pts.

Washington will hit 93 points if they just go 6-6 in their last 12… they’re gonna go 6-6 at least
If Ovi keeps up his hot streak, the Caps will make it. If not, I think they sink. If the Sabres take care of business and the Capitals cool off, I think the playoffs are in reach.
Sabres are 6 points back with 10 games to play and 3 other teams in front of them before the last wild card spot. The sabres have played more games than all, but NJ, including Pittsburgh, who are two points back, but have two games in hand in the sabres.
So essentially, the sabres need to gain 6 points on Washington while also outplaying the red wings, islanders, devils, and penguins, all who have games in hand. They are not making the playoffs lol.
It could happen if the numbers play out.
I know my luck with my favorite franchises. You’re probably not wrong. They will probably finish as close to the playoffs as possible without making it, guaranteeing them the worst draft pick possible without making the dance, and me with all the woulda coulda shouldas in the world.
I promise you, I hope I’m wrong and they make it! I just don’t see it, especially when other teams have games in hand.
