I gave up on coach/player interviews about 15 years ago. Couldn’t care less and haven’t for a long time. I finally realized it’s literally the same pre-rehearsed/pre-scripted questions, and literally the same pre-rehearsed/pre-scripted responses from a PR team. While there are times you occasionally get the genuine response, it’s exceedingly rare. Need to play our game, need to play the full 60 minutes, need to keep it simple, etc. from players, and coaches have their own response gymnastics.
