(@DhaliwalSports) Hearing Jonathan Lekkerimaki is leaving for Vancouver on Sunday, early word he could stay for 8-10 days, then go back to Sweden and try to make it for the worlds.

Can somebody explain to me what this likely means?

These type of visits I think really help a player over the summer. Even if he’s just here 1-2 weeks, he can take in everything and know what he’s working for over the summer. Meet the team in Abbottsford, so its an easier transition in September.

Im a bit torn on whether I want him to come over next season or not.
He seems to have a good thing going on in Sweden, and he probably could benefit from continuing to physically develop before coming over.
At 19, he is still pretty young for the AHL and I wouldn’t expect him to come over and dominate. But it would be good to get him in the system.
Best case scenario is he does another year in Sweden, and then jumps straight to the NHL like EP40.
