Jake Allen has been tremendous. Fingers crossed, him + Saros or him + Markstrom are this team's goalie duo next year and Allen doesn't get the curse of our backup goalies. Also not sure how WPG is gonna keep up with a team like Colorado if they had issues with us tonight lol. Hopefully the Devils can make it tough on the Flyers to end out the year.

You can see how much better this team has looked. Don't know if it's enough, but finishing strong will carry over going into the 24-25 season.
One of the best games they played this year I would say, except everything Smith did. Allen just showing how important a good goalie is. A great 60 minutes
Allen really is proving he want's to be on this team. Made some rally good saves. Let's not forget that Devils outshot jest 40-20 or more

Statement game. I don't know where this team is against the Coyotes or the Kings, but unfortunately these outings against teams like Dallas and Winnipeg , especially with how some of these teams really want to fumble their spot, gives me hope that we can still squeak in. Good to see Hughes reeeaaalllly producing again. Hopefully we can stop hearing "LMaO pEOplE paY TO wATcH mE pLAy 🤓"
Unless they quietly offed the entire analytics team, Jake Allen's our starter next year. I can only pray he and Timo can keep producing outings like these.
if we had this goal tending 1 month ago not even couple weeks before deadline we would be in playoff position
Jake is proving that our teams focus going into the off-season should be gritty forwards and gritty defenseman and we ride Jake and not get ripped off for that All-Star caliber goalie.
Not to forget that Jake won the Stanley Cup with the blues and that he’s proven and if he continues to prove that he can stop the pucks at the rate he is now with this type of team in front of him imagine how much better he will play when we get gritty, defenseman, and forwards to go along with it ? And even if his play drops a bit, he looked terrible in Montreal because they’re also in a rebuilding phase for years now.
Jerseys win now window is now, so as long as we get some proven, veteran, defenseman and forwards, somehow that would be much better for the team in my opinion. Let’s also remember that Markstrom heck Igor have all been exposed in the playoffs I don’t care how good they play in the regular season I believe that all you need is a slightly above average goalie and that is Jake and the rest Has to be about a good system and grit. Not to mention ullmark has a terrible playoff track record. I’d rather get multiple strategic signings of value that will be used in our system that we implement,
Rather than overpaying for a star goalie
Allen and Daws next season. The cup is ours!!
Daneyko and Bill said it too but this was the Devils’ signature win of the season and it’s not even close. It took 5 months, but finally a complete game. Great win.

Brought two first timers to this game and I honestly wasn't having high hopes. Seeing Jake Allen kick ass yet again was such a treat and that one goal against him was just absolutely comical, can't even blame lol

Devils looked pretty friggin good tonight. PP is back in action and Allen has been awesome. Makes me embarrassed to post the doomer comments I’ve made over the past week or so. Timo is a different player the past 2 weeks. Shutting up the haters.

Amazing game. Our boys really shined tonight on so many different levels, made WPG seem practically invisible. Where was Kyle Connor. Took a minute to adjust to Toffoli and Miller sleeping with the enemy, but I am willing to accept the reality of the situation. Allen seems a good fit so far as I'm sure he's been relishing more game time and the boys seem to have more freedom and confidence in their play with a more secure net. Win win. And of course TIMO TIME. LGD! (Seeing Nico sad post-game bothers me too. 😊)

It's sad it took until game 70 for them to play a complete game like this, for sure. Almost as sad as how long it took Fitz to get another goalie. Too little too late on both. Smith was really the only one who had a 'bad' game – and he still got a lick in on Ehlers after he embarrassed him earlier on that GA. I frankly want to see more of that edge from the team, we need nasty boys that won't take shit.
Agreed with you on Allen. Even with how great his run has been – Vezina caliber performance out of Jake is not sustainable (nor reasonable to expect) for '24-'25 over 50+ games. We still need a 1A, but it's a fun ride rn and nice to dream.
My biggest fear, and I can see it happening… The team wins out but still misses the playoffs. Fitz uses that to stay status quo during the off season. no need to make any moves, hires Green as permanent coach and drafts another small forward. rinse and repeat.
