The Canadiens average the 5th most shots blocked this season

With 17.62 blocked shots per game, the habs average 1.37 shots less than the golden knights. While I think this reflects well on the players’ buy-in, the fact remains that having to play playoff hockey for 82 games takes a toll on the players; People on here seem convinced all our injury woes are just the result of the team being cursed or something.

Man, unrelated but that shot Gallagher blocked last night with his hand… I was like, no not again. Guy is the most unlucky getting slappers on his hands from teammates. Happy to see he came back the next shift!

Our 5 on 5 in the defensive zone during most of the season often looked more like a penalty kill, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we have a lot of blocked shots.

  3. 5v5:

Roy and RHP are in the top 20 forwards (7th and 16th) in the League for Shots blocked/60 rates.

Slafkovsky is 11th forward in the League for total blocked shots (56).

Guhle is 8th defenseman in the League in total blocked shots (126)

Savard is 10th defenseman in the League in blocked shots/60 rates.

    All strengths:

Roy and RHP are both top 10 (7th and 10th) in /60 rates.

Savard is still 10th overall in /60 rates. Guhle still 7th in D total blocked shots

Slafkosky is 27th in F total blocked shots.
