Wings Win Biggest Game Of Year In Thrilling Fashion & Get Their Playoff Spot Back | The Daily Ticket

The Detroit red Wings are once again in possession of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference after shocking the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-3 in overtime on Tuesday night. Detroit needed that win in the worst way and they had to come from behind to grab it. After trailing 2-0 in the first period, Lucas Raymond scored his second goal of the game to tie the contest at 3 with less than 13 seconds remaining and then Patrick Kane won it in overtime. It was the biggest win of the season as the Wings try to make the playoffs for the first time since 2016. Jeff Riger offers up all the details and emotion on the latest episode of The Daily Ticket.

  1. I'm glad wings won last night. I watch every single game and am huge hockey fan. I'm still very frustrated the way the have been playing. Last night was great! But they should not even be in this position! Better play competent hockey and win some of these games. If they just rollover and show there belly i will be pissed.

  2. Since I was 9 years old, in 1993-1994 I've loved hockey and loved the Red Wings. Was a great time to grow up as a Wings fan obviously. It's been pretty sad for the last decade here but if we can claw our way back into the playoffs I think it will be huge and very exciting for Hockeytown! I think at the end of the season we'll be in. However, this coach seems to have checked out and I really think he still needs to go. #LGRW

  3. Might be a more important win, but the Kane OT winner on a breakaway in Chicago on his ceremonial return was more sensational. I think fans will remember that one more. Or the Colorado game when DeBrincat tied it up with 3 minutes to go and then Kane won it in OT on a feed from DeBrincat.

  4. I absolutely love Ken Kal and Paul Woods. However I personally feel that Ken Daniels is the greatest Red Wings play by play guy ever, and Mickey Redmond is a Detroit Legend/Treasure/whatever title you wanna give him. It’s the pure emotion, energy, and passion behind Ken Daniels when he calls a huge goal for Detroit. His puns and witty one liners are creative too e.g. “everybody loves Raymond now” or “Showtimeeeeee! Showtimeeeeeee! Showtimeeeeeeeee!” to name a few.

  5. I was yelling at the end of the first. That’s when I went to bed and when I woke in the morning for work I was surprised that the Wing won.
