ARE THE CANUCKS BACK? TOTAL DOMINATION VS THE BUFFALO SABRES (ELIAS PETTERSSON & RASMUS DAHLIN)
Few s relief there e the Vancouver connects ended up defeating the Buffalo Sabers 32 at home in yet another game where offense seemed to have been a little bit difficult to come by not for lack of chances not for a lack of opportunity and not for a lack of effort
But really because Devin Levi was a pretty good player in this game my goodness okay so heading into tonight’s Vancouver Canucks game there was a little bit of an odd flavor going around the city in regards to this team they’d been blowing some leads they’d been losing some games they had been scoring
Too few goals in some of these recent showcases and it was starting to pile up in a way that all of a sudden it’s like yeah this is a team that needs to kind of whip themselves back up in the gear heading into the postseason and a game
Against the Buffalo Sabers 700 p.m. start time after a few days of rest this should be the perfect opportunity to do that and I will say the end result is a win 32 one goal game it was really close in terms of the score the entire way
Through but in terms of The Possession and the metrics and the chances Vancouver really did deserve to win this one they’re a better team than Buffalo they showed it on the ice but de Levi did his best in keeping buffalo in it I mean look at the deserve to win om meter
Vancouver has a 96 percentile rate of needing to win this game Buffalo’s is at 4% that just illustrates the amount of quality chances the Vancouver Canucks had in this game from the opening puck drop but the only reason it wasn’t closer is because Devon Levi was Devon
Levi now for Vancouver they ended up with the win but it could have been a lot tighter than that it was two nothing for a good chunk of this game then it was 2 to one and then Elias Pon made it 3-1 on the empty net and then delene
Scored with 20 seconds to go to bring the game within one the game-winning goal in this one happened to have been Elias Peterson’s empty net goal which is always funny when it happens but kind of alarming at the same time if you’re on the receiving end of that but either way
Let’s get into the game because right after the opening face off pretty much you had Carson Susi take himself up penalty not great and admittedly the Canucks and their discipline was not where it needed to be in this game we’ll get into more of that as the video goes
On but Carson Susi started the game out in the Box the Canucks ended up killing this off and the Canucks are eventually able to use this momentum to get on the board and make it one- nothing it’s Connor Garland who scores off of a really strange play where the puck gets
Thrown on goal it’s stopped up by the base of the goal post and Dev Levi’s right skate but Connor Garland is right there he comes in starts whacking at it the puck crosses the line but so does Devon Levi’s foot it’s a good goal on the ice but the Buffalo Sab challenge
For goal tender interference and upon video review it’s determined that the puck was already going to go in before Connor Garland stick whacked at the Devon Levi skate and push that over the line so good goal calling the ice stands it’s a one- nothing game the Canucks
Then have them a power play because of the failed coach’s Challenge and look on this power play opportunity the Canucks were so good they put Miller back on that left half wall and he cooked oh boy he’s looking so good in that spot and I think a lot of Canuck fans they were
Even talking about this on the intermission segment a lot of Canucks fans were clamoring about putting JT back on that left half wall and we started to see why lots of cross creas lots of good movement lots of chances in front lots of great saves made by Deon Levi but the Canucks unfortunately
Cannot capitalize on this coach’s challenge delay of game penalty and the Sabers kill it off the Sabers then go on the power play themselves as Neils Oman gets a penalty for hooking the Canucks killed this off we have ourselves a few more chances to end off the period
Though it’s hoglander py and Garland with most of the standout opportunities they’re centering the Pucks in front they’re chucking it on goal it’s looking good but they can’t beat Levi and you also have yourselves a Pia chance off the post this one also could have gone in but unfortunately could not beat the
Iron the cans controlled play very well for the rest of this first period and with 7.8 seconds to go in the frame you had yourselves Rasmus Dalene going off for crosschecking second period gets underway and the Canucks are still on the man Advantage from that daring penalty and you have yourselves the old
Sadine play that gets chocked by Brock besser he hammers the puck off the end boards and pouncing onto it on the opposite side of the rink is JT Miller he gets a point blank Breakaway and instead of controlling it coming in and dangling he just onetime bomb slap shots
It on goal stopped by Devon Levi the rest of the power play is then killed off by the Buffalo Sabers at this point the puck is just kind of going back and forth chances are being traded at either end the Canucks are getting a few more
Opportun ities though and with 838 to go you have yourselves Nikita zadorov going off for tripping Alex tuck but whilst on the power play you have Elia MV who gets a breakaway short-handed and he draws an ow and power holding penalty so the cans get a little bit of a breather there
There is a man Advantage given out to Vancouver afterwards and on this the koks are able to convert Hughes goes over to Miller the shot the save the rebound and it’s aias Pon who puts it in on the backhand to make it to nothing Conor Garland was also on this shift as
Well him and Pon had a two-on one a few seconds earlier where Connor Garland was a little bit too far forward and wasn’t able to put the puck in but either way it’s a two nothing game at the end of the second period big standouts going over to Elias Pon with two points
Already Quinn Hughes also with two points and then you had Elia mckv who actually looked really good in that second period started the third period though and this is where the Canucks run into more penalty trouble as it’s Pia suar who goes off for tripping Tage Thompson the Canucks kill it off great
But then again you still do not like seeing as many power plays given to the opposition as the Canucks gave tonight Jacob Bryson then goes over to the Box the Canucks have themselves their own power play but the Sabres kill it off at 1125 to go it’s a 4 on four after Myers
And another saber go off for coincidental minor and whilst on the 4 on four it’s Rasmus Dalene who comes right through and beats Casey the Smith on the backand to make it a one-goal game he dangles around Elias Lindholm then he dangles around Philip ronik not a great look for the
Supposed 7.5 to8 million caliber defenseman in honic he just got absolutely walked by darene and it’s a 2 to1 game at this point the Canucks start to pick up the pace a little bit they get a few extra chances but Devon Le II is making some really great saves at
This point and with 418 to go in the third period it’s Tage Thompson who dangles the Canuck defenseman and centers it for a prime cross crease but the sabes cannot get a puck on goal the Sabers then pulled their goal tender a few minutes later and it’s
Alias Pon who buries it make it 3 to one and then with 20 seconds to go on the empty net as well Rasmus Dalene scores again his long shot hits the leg of Nik do a door off and ends up in the back of the net and in the final 20 seconds
Teddy Bluer comes in on goal with an open net but he’s blocked twice in a row by Rasmus Dalene who blocks the shot out in front so not a great showcase for Bluer at the very end there you probably would have wanted them to see the points
Go up on the board but at the end of the day it was a great game for these three Sabers defensemen Byrum darene power they all had really good games in my opinion daring especially Quinn Hughes of course did his thing and Alias pon getting himself three points on the
Night makes a good case for him being that 11 something million doll player that in which corresponds to the contract he was given earlier in the month but honestly with the way this game gone if they’re playing any team other than Buffalo and they get into as
Much penalty trouble as they did today it’s probably not good news like they were able to kill off a bunch of power plays in this one because it was Buffalo but if it’s any other team you have to look out you can’t be going to the box
So much for hooking and tripping and all this other stuff that the Canucks ended up doing today it’s just hey you know they’re slowly getting back up to form they’re still awaiting the return of Dakota Joshua they still are waiting for thater Demco to come back too Casey the
Smith was pretty all right in this one all things considered like the goals that beat him were pretty much not his fault deflection out in front off as zadorov and then Dalene just dangling by everybody and going on the backand like it’s not really predictable to do that
So big UPS to quesy Smith for this game Big Ups of course to Alias Pon Quinn Hughes looked great and the power play looked awesome with Miller on that half wall once again let me know your thoughts in the comment section below about the kxs beating the Buffalo Sabers

Total domination no, just no.
Buffalo sucks. Jets VS Rangers was more telling and a huge game for Jets
No. Canucks are not back till joshua comes back
Crazy how the canucks just seem to keep playing superstar goalies every night lately… I still think they will do well to make it to the 2nd rd.
I bet the negative Nancy's still wont give Pettersson his props. JT is just a beast Micheyev looks like he might be getting his game back. The Canucks miss Joshua. Lidholm is overrated. DeSmith is holding his own. Hughes is Hughes.
All these Goalies shutting down the canucks Lindgren to Levi whose next
Canucks have a very good team.. they will be tough to beat in the playoffs for anyone in the west except the Av's.. Colorado is gunna dominate on the way to the cup I think (as long as MacKinnon and Makar are healthy)
Total Domination? maybe go back and watch the game
the 2 elias's had great games. buffalo's 2nd goal was one of those ugly ones that no one could stop. buffalo is a really good team and the canuck defence shut them down for most of the game.
They played a tired sabres team. Buffalo wasnt all there. Too much speed for them in the game after game.
