The Maple Leafs have only lost four games since mid-February, which isn’t bad at all, but when you dig deeper, you see that all those defeats came at the hands of contenders. Did Saturday’s failure against the Hurricanes shine a light on one of Toronto’s biggest weaknesses? Should Leafs fans be worried about Auston Matthews’ low output against top competition? TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button weighs in.

It’s too and Auston Matthew’s can’t thrive when it counts.
" I think the leafs need to be worried about Ottawa" wasn't that what you said Craig? Ottawa was going to wipe the floor in the Eastern conference . You have no clue what you are talking about so be quiet will ya!
Classic Toronto cope. Toronto will never win a cup with such soft hands like Marner and Matthew’s.
Unless Matthews gets a hat trick every night against BOS in playoffs it won't matter!
Fire Shanahan, Treliving and most of all Keefe , try again next year!
Button really looks like he should've been the one of the few recurring characters in Are You Afraid of the Dark?
Leafs record is pretty good. As Gretzky says – the Leafs Core like Matthews just disappears come playoffs (they belong on Milk Cartons as missing persons). No point in thinking about Matthews – he is highly paid and likely enjoys spring golf. The Leafs Fans do deserve better.😀
Why is this news. Who cares.
