Damn. Tough loss for the New York Rangers that see their winning streak end at 10 games.
Elvis Merzlikins made 38 saves, and the Columbus Blue Jackets ended the New York Rangers’ 10-game winning streak with a 4-2 victory at Nationwide Arena on Sunday.
New York finished one win shy of setting a franchise record after tying its longest mark of 10 consecutive victories with a 2-1 win at the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday. The Rangers also won 10 straight from Dec. 19, 1939, to Jan. 13, 1940, and Jan. 19 to Feb. 10, 1973.
Dmitri Voronkov, Kirill Marchenko and Jack Roslovic each had a goal and an assist for the Blue Jackets (19-28-10), who had lost four of their past six (2-4-0). Johnny Gaudreau had two assists.
Artemi Panarin and Adam Edstrom scored and Jonathan Quick made 37 saves for the Rangers (39-17-3), whose last loss came on Jan. 26 against the Vegas Golden Knights, 5-2.
Voronkov gave Columbus a 1-0 lead at 4:35 on the power play. It was the rookie forward’s fourth goal in his past six games.

Honestly, it’s fine. We lost to a terrible team, but winning 11 in a row is a lot to ask for. We bounced back from that post-Christmas slump, and we’re not turning back.

Let’s be honest, they just got by yesterday against Philly. Tofay looked out of it today. Idc about a streak. At this point they need points and to keep playing a full 60.

Was Mika a healthy scratch tonight didn't see him on the ice, for being your number 1 center you have to produce and I'm sorry he doesn't do much and that was evident again tonight total ghost out there just skating around no ozone time no forechecking that 1st line needs to spend time in the ozone and cycle the puck and battle Drury needs to find a RW to play with the first line but if Mika doesn't wake up what good is that gonna do, the Boyz had no legs tonight, they have a couple of days off now to rest and get ready for Wednesday. This game was bad. Since last night I knew we were going to lose. My dad jynxed this game. As soon as I saw Rempe lose the fight I knew it was over before it started. And I was right all along. Had the feeling just knew it. Thanks Dad. You’re 3-0 at jynxing Rangers games.

As soon as Rempe lost I turned to my son and said game over. Miller and Trouba made me sick tonite. Columbus average Russian line looked like elite league Dynamo tonite against them. On to Wednesday.

Team defense has been weak lately. This is 3 straight where they gave up at least 40 shots on goal. They had tightened things up for a bit, but back to their bad habits again. This team needs to stay committed.
