Excellent. I rarely saw better videos about any subject. This is clear and helps to gain confidence for major basic issues while sailing. Thank you so much. 👍👍
Thank you for this sensible and practical approach to learning to sail. Question: What kind of Keel/Centreboard does the boat your using in this vlog use? It seems very stable, like there’s good weight there. After watching many learn to sail vids, this is the best I’ve seen👏
Great video! I just started my sailing classes a couple of weeks ago (I’m aiming for the helmsman certification), and you Igor are explaining exactly the same concepts I’ve been learning here at my local sailing school, while already experienced much of the things you mention about moving in the boat, handling the jib ropes and so on. Again, very, very nice video. Cheers from Argentina!
Super high quality video for anyone who wants to understand what it's like to be at the tiller/helm of a dinghy or small keelboat. Amazing setting and Igor is just perfect in his approach to share the joy of sailing. Tip of the hat sir!!
The best video for beginners learning to sail. It helped me get into sailing. Now I own a beautiful wooden sailboat designed by Paul Gartside. See it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XNgZrok3fQ
I'm learning the theories before I start a real class and this is the best video I've found so far. Beautiful, simple and straight to the point. I wish you all the success!
Hi Igor, I'm a 50 year old who has been looking to take intensive classes learning how to sail over a one month period. I came across your video and loved it. Just curious, where is this beautiful location in Croatia and what time of year did you film this? Also, I was on your website and didn't notice anything about a sailing school. Are you still doing that or just yacht delivery, holiday sails and such. Thanks, John.
one other "safety" option with downwind is to attach a "boom preventer" to the bow, or amidships (center of the boat), which keeps the boom out, tie it off, and it can't gybe accidentally!, you let the preventer gybe the boom, slowly, to the mainsheet setting on the opposite tack.
dude u should be a teacher , your vocabulary is so down to earth and you are such a humble and simple person that it s a pleasure to learn from you , really you should be a credited RYA teachers d pay money to learn from you .
Absolutely loved this. I have sailed on a couple of occasions years ago but never understood what the hell was going on. I just pulled on some ropes and things happened. I now understand what was happening. great job, well done pal.💯
