Cale Makar and Quinn Hughes will play each other tonight when the Avalanche visit the Canucks in a battle of two of the best defencemen in the NHL. TSN Hockey analyst Mike Johnson chimes in on the the Norris Trophy chances for each player, with Hughes currently set as the favourite.

Makar is the best defenceman in the sport & it’s not even debatable. But the people who vote on these awards are lazy & just go with a narrative. So the rover will probably win.

Tonight game proved nothing in this race considering the refs and a stupid last minute play cost the Canucks a victory here. Hughes was way more noticeable in this game then Makar.
