I love Saros, but I hope we didn’t burn ourselves and the future of this organization by keeping him just to lose him.
Also, what’s up with Tyson Barrie?
In my opinion the Predators should absolutely keep their franchise goalie Saros for the rest of his career. I think that Saros and Askarov could have the same kind of relationship than Rinne and Saros had. Askarov is still a prospect and a long term project at this point, but if he is a future franchise goalie, it´s perfect for his develeopment to be a back up goalie for Saros for let´s say a few seasons. After that they could have a 1A/1B situation switching from Saros being the 1A goalie to Askarov being the 1A goalie whenever Askarov is ready to take over. And after that Askarov could be the clear starting goalie while Saros could end his career by being a valuable mentor for Askarov and an experienced back up goalie. I don´t see why anybody should argue against this scenario. Is money the biggest issue here or what?
Spencer Stastney was recalled today as Dante Fabbro will be out with injury for a few weeks. While I'm glad to see Stastney called up, I'm concerned about who will pair with Josi as Fabbro was doing well with the captain recently. What do you think the D pairings should be while Fabbro is out?
