  1. Note – At 5:44 – We wrote Jakob finished 2nd in the 2022 World Championships with a time of 2:39.47 in the 1500 meters, and while Jakob is fast, he didn't quite break the world record by more than 40 seconds in this race. Thanks for understanding you legends.

  2. Why 3:45/km for longer distance? he's 1.86m, have you noticed tall people seem to be penalized in long distance? too much energy loss? Couldn't he run a half marathon at something like 3:14 / km (like Blummenfelt who is 9cm shorter but after swimming and riding)?

  3. With the improvements in shoes design, sport and nutrition research, supplements, sports labs, gadgets and techs… this guy should be able to break the 1500m WR. But with that in mind, imagine what Elgerrouj could have achieved if he had access to all these developments on his prime days….

  4. I think if you wanna break Hicham's record this guy is the closest in a long time to be a candidate for the task, I wouldn't be surprised to see him do 3.26.45 anytime soon.

  5. So just run a 23:15 10k every monday morning, besting the WR by 4 minutes. Sure pal, sure. Clicked the vid off right then and there.

  6. He is an incredible athlete but after his showboating during the rounds in the World Championship last week it was great to see Josh Kerr put him in his place in the final.

  7. I have a similar schedule on Monday I eat McDonald’s Tuesdays Burger King Wednesday KFC Thursday Popeyes Friday dominos pizza Saturday pollo tropical and Sunday ice cream

  8. mayI am not sure how common is it to do lactate tests during training, but Norwegian triathletes (Blummenfelt, Iden & co) do it a lot. Their training is actually super-scientific. Maybe the Norwegians are sharing information across different sports?

  9. Taking any type of blood samples should not be allowed just to run !! Only if the runner has real health issues !
No different then high school sports…….. using candy bars…. caffeine etc…to enhance performance . No different the using drugs ! Coaches should be fired for even suggested doing these things ! Its sports….no drug performance sports !

  10. You have the heading 49sec laps , that's untrue as his best time for 400m is around 51 seconds. This is incredibly actually that he can still be one of the very best 1500m runner with a sprint that is slower than must top 1500m athletes.

  11. Can we assume he runs in zone 2 for his easy and long runs? Or do you think he pushes them past zone 2 HR?

  12. The provided work out splits and comments by JI are timely and ideal, yet ever changing as mentioned at 2:45 clicks, running 3 min 1k pace (slower days), rather than the schedule’s 3:45/1k pace. The gradation schedule from start to adaptive potential (goal tolerance), constantly adjusts to maintain desired pH levels to avoid setbacks.
