I have no clue how they can look this bad no fight no four checking letting the other team have control in there zone for a minute or more at a time they like to pass to much and look for the middle way to much teams are cutting that play off and they still try to go to it all the time makes no sense what a waste of a good run
I live in detroit and EVERYONE here drank the kool-aid and said we getting in the playoffs. I thought maybe if we made a couple moves at trade deadline but nothing at all happened and since Larkin went down our team has gave up. It's embarrassing

As a Wings fan, I was pleasantly surprised they were in the hunt for playoffs up to and including right now.
My perception of this team going into this season was we'd be good but not good enough to go deep in the playoffs. I think DET is an upper middle team, and a soon to be power house.
Perhaps in 1-3 seasons the rebuild should be 100% over and deep cup runs can be expected.
If we miss the playoffs, I won't be mad, another good-to-all right draft pick. If we make the playoffs, great, that's a cup or good experience for the young kids.
Once we stop paying Abdelkader is when I'll expect big things. Slow and steady until then.

It seems a number of vets are hurting. They look like they are really run down. They weren't a serious cup contender at the season start, so lower your expectations a bit. They did have a huge rebuild and no luck winning the draft, and no point in signing a huge free agent contract without enough core young players in place. Lyon played way over expectation and was due to come back into his norm. He was outstanding for quite a bit. Now their confidence is crushed, and they aren't healthy… bad combo. It will come around, but i dont think they are a playoff team… never did. If Lyon had not played so well, they would not have been thought of as a playoff team.
The broadcast capture fischer and fabbri having an argumentative exchange on the bench. Not happy with eachother, it looks like all the chemistry flew out the window. Wonder if there's more going on in the locker room. I understand Larkin isn't on the ice, but a team shouldn't crumble like this because their captain isn't dressing.
I hate all the talk about effort and passion and leadership. I think it's ridiculous to assume that these guys don't care and they're not trying.
They're just playing fucking terrible. I've felt this way all season – there are serious flaws in the style they play. They relied on Lyon to get them a ton of wins in January and February, because almost every night they get outshot, outchanced, and out…puck possessed. The defense, even when all 5 guys are locked in, cannot breakout cleanly and so often relies on wrapping it around the boards or lifting it out. They repeatedly get swatted out of the offensive zone within seconds of crossing the blue line, either mindlessly dumping it to where no other Wing can win the puck, or looking for the perfect pass when the team is getting outshot 20-8 half way through the game. These have been issues all season and it's finally coming back to bite them. They can't handle an aggressive forecheck, the forwards don't help out the D enough, the D don't help out the forwards enough, and on and on.
I think Lalonde seems like a good coach, but I have had reservations about the style of hockey he wants from this team. We've seen it work from time to time. We had wins against the Devils and Bruins back in November, I think, where the team was in sync and looked great. They've played other top teams hard and won plenty of times. But overall, night after night, they just don't play in a way that looks like it has a chance against Edmonton, or Colorado, or the Rangers. I think Lalonde needs to change his approach, now.

Lalonde has got to go. It’s time, he needs to go. This team is embarrassing, I am pissed OFF. Lalonde will come out and say “I thought we played well for 14 seconds in the second and the bounces didn’t go our way”. Guy is a turd.

The heart and soul of the team is out but people think its the ad that causes the skid… fans are weird man.
I feel bad for Lyon. He's done so well all season but this is also the year he's played more than double the amount of games he's ever played in a season in the NHL. Hopefully he doesn't get down from this loss streak. Honestly at this point give it up. Bring some more Grand Rapids guys up so they can get some real game time since this year is a wash.
I knew this team didn’t have what it took to compete. That was obvious when a 35 year old Patrick Kane joined the team after surgery and became the best offensive player on the ice for us. But hey, what do I know. I’m just an “armchair GM” and I should just trust in the “Yzerplan” right? 🤡🤡🤡
Petry and Holl suck. The defense is awful. Ghost can score, but can’t play D. They need another defender or some grit

What a joke ! I, unfortunately, watched the entire game 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼. The so called Yzerman Plan is an absolute farce. Lalonde and his staff can be shown the door anytime, certainly, without question, at seasons end. This team has good talent, and a good minor league pool, it absolutely has to fall on Yzerman and Lalonde !!! Stop with the jersey patch 🙄🙄🙄
Lyon has been a great story this season, but he’s not the long term answer in net obviously. I am guilty of tricking myself into think he could be. That’s on me. Also, losing Larkin has really showed how badly we need another play driving center. Compher has been great for us, but he doesn’t carry play and create like Larkin does. Defense has been up and down all season, and right now is as bad as it’s been. Too many turnovers. Can’t get a puck out of the zone in crucial situations. All we’re seeing is all of our issues coming to a head at once. This was never the year to win the cup, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t getting really excited for playoffs and that this had been incredibly crushing to watch.
Im embaressed to be a wings fan. Thats the performance we get for a team fighting to keep there playoff spot. They have played so bad these last 6 games they actually made me pissed off like angry. I could cuss everyone on thag team out for there effort. No one even cares it feels like. Like he said there checked out thinking about where there gonna vacation at end of season. This is not a good team yzerman has put together. Im so sick of hearing the yzerman fanboys defending him. This team is shit!!! Even when they win its boring hockey!! When they lose and its boring….oh god thats bad. Screw this team. There not even a team. A team would come together and step up when ur captain is out and a team would not let a 6 game losing streak happen right before playoffs!! We had a 8-10 pt lead over isles and its gone! Heads need to roll! Im so sick of hearing lalonde after these losses. I wanna see him on the bench during the game bitching at his players to do something, anything, make a damn play someone!!
