He went WAY too far

We need to talk about Matt Rempe, a player who while taking the NHL by storm has gone way too far this time. We’ll talk all that and more on today’s NHL hockey video!

  1. It's hilarious that Rangers fans can't own this one writing it was a clean hit. No way in the world this was a clean hit. It's safe to say Rempe lost respect by a others that respected what he was trying to show and prove when entering the NHL stage. And that wave to devils bench was a scumbag move.

  2. Ooooo. Yeah, the elbow raising up was absolutely intentional especially from the center Ice camera review. I’m not saying he was trying to hit him in the head or that he was trying to elbow him to hurt him but it definitely flared out with the proverbial chicken wing hit. He’s lucky he just ended up with a glancing blow or that could’ve been horrific

  3. He reminds of Chara, big guy who ‘accidentally’ hits players high due to his height advantage.

  4. As a Devils fan, of course I'm pissed off with this elbow but I'm more pissed off with this team and the direction they went while building it. Just a bunch of weak children.

  5. I’m honestly more disappointed he only grazed him, should’ve made it worth it. Siegenthaler is an absolute pussy. We’re just going to ignore the cross check that he threw to the back of Rempe’s head literally 10 seconds before this? Don’t dish it out if you can’t take it. He’s the same dude who tried to be a tough guy after the Bastian hit, and started turtle shelling after one punch.

  6. Come on Rempe! A lot of fans around the league are cheering for him. He can keep it clean and make waves. Don’t chicken wing the guy!

  7. If that gets 8 games but cross checking someone to the face after a goal is 5 games then I don’t understand hockey rules

  8. Suspend like 10 games. He’s hitting guys in complete nothing plays like dumping the puck in when they’re exposed. I’m all for hitting in important areas, but this is completely needless.

  9. Couldn't this be charging as well? The puck is gone, skates two more steps to make the hit. It also looked like he was going to miss the check so he through up his elbow to get something on the guy.

  10. Leading with your elbow while simultaneously leaving your feet to make a hit when you are 6'8'' is ridiculous and I have no idea how people don't see intent to injure here. If Reilly got 5 games for cross-check to head idk how Rempe gets less.

  11. I'm gonna be honest, I don't like him. He's brand new to the NHL and has already injured 2 players, both were clearly his fault and one was blatant charging (aka he intentionally took several strides towards someone much smaller than him… seems like intent to me…). I love a scrap. I love a kid who can take as many licks as they give. But you can have all of that without risking the safety of other players to such an egregious degree. And the fact he hasn't received the punishments proportional to what he's done so far, I also think this is a worrying precedent.

  12. Two to eight games? What are you smokin dude. The guy has to be laid out and flailing for eight. 1-2 most.

  13. Tape the fucking guys arms to his hips then. He’s 6’7 without skate making him 6+ inches taller that most of the NHL.
It’s basic fucking anatomy. He’s NEVER going to make contact with his shoulders because nobody can fucking reach them.
With this logic Scott Stevens and Derian Hatcher would be in prison for multiple attempted murders.

  14. This dude needs to chill. Didn’t look like it was intentional, but he’s not handling himself well in those checking situations. It’s showing lack of experience, and he may get suspended. I just want him to fight macdermid

  15. We’ve all been here. You go to throw a hit, realize you’re gonna miss so you reach. Not intent to injure but a bad decision. Pospisil on the Flames has the same problem. Wants so badly to have an impact that he makes poor choices.

  16. I was shocked he wasn't the first time he head checked a guy. If this isn't at least 2 games, the league is making their bias very public. Not a reflection of the player(s)/team(s), but the league

  17. Accidentally on purpose. He's started to show how irresponsible he is and he's injuring players almost every other game.

Suspend him and make it a big one, that said, best dops can do is a 5k fine.

  18. Don't like to see that.Few Rangers over the years would resort to that.Dale Rolfe could of used such a partner.Vadnais only came way later and then of course,Nick Fotiu.

  19. “i like bruisers like trouba but not if it comes with dirty hits” bro trouba lays dirty hits like it’s his fking job

  20. This kid is a complete nozzle. Max suspension. He's done nothing but go over the line since being called up.

  21. The worst part is, it’s because he missed timed the hit, so he threw his elbow out. Watch seganthaler move back and rempe didn’t fully commit to the hit. He has to learn how to commit to his hits

  22. You may disagree but nate Bastian hit was intent to injure in my opinion as well. Or atleast he lacks common sense from when a player is in a vulnerable position and that he's likely to injure. Him doing the good bye wave to mcdermid was low class as well.

  23. Seeing you take all the goodies of the day/week. I think you missed one few days ago.

  24. Get this no-talent bum out of the NHL now.
He has OHL level hockey skills…all he can do is fight and injure. The league should have no place for that BS.

  25. Agreed. Don’t think it was malicious but definitely inexcusable regardless. Gotta have the control to keep the arms down, especially when you’re 6’8.

  26. Suspended for sure at least 3 games and based on his history hell be getting suspended every game he comes back to play. Dirty player through and through and he seems to have no control of himself or maybe he just doesnt know the rules. He wont be in league long unless rangers want to keep wasteing money on him. Their out trouba for couple of weeks so henwill prolly stay. Be prepared for a suspension though haha. Kids going to be called out by thebbiggest guys you watch. Hes going to get hurt.

  27. Body checking is a skill and this kid doesn't have that skill to a high enough level yet, which is what happened here. You have to be able to throw a hard check and not get a penalty. It's not easy, especially in the modern NHL.

  28. This is on the league, letting this go forever….I remember former Penguin player,, Kuntz, throwing elbows with intent to injure. The governing bodies of the NHL should stop with the BS, and put a stop to this immediately….Hearings?….they do not deter anything.…..

  29. Bro…he's not skilled wth are you even saying???? 2 points in ten games….54 penalty minutes. He's a goon, nothing else.
