Could the Blackhawks trade Seth Jones?

Could the Blackhawks potentially find a trade partner for Seth Jones? If so, should they unload him even if it means having to retain salary for several years?

  1. What about swapping Jeff Skinner for Seth Jones from Buffalo , 4 years left at 9 million for Skinner , 7 years left for Jones at 9.5 , Chicago gets out of the deal sooner, Buffalo needs players to take the next step

  2. Bowman really messed that all up but there are a few things to think about now, admittedly in hindsight. 1) other than the 1st round pick, the trade hasn't worked out for the Jackets either. And 2) Jones has been terrific this season even with the Hawks being terrible again. 3) The cap will continue to rise and the contract won't be as much of an issue as people thought. I'm not so sure I'd even bother trading him unless the contract coming back is also a top line player. Because Jones is still that for the Blackhawks.

  3. Pete's correct here. As long as Jones remains the Hawks 1-2 dman. The contract is only about $1.5-2 million too much.
