  1. Having a solid 3rd shutdown line is great to have. I still wish Tampa still had Gourde Coleman and Goodrow all together.

  2. I feel like both would be too much cost for the improvements they bring. The blue line is solid enough, what we need is a Top 6 PP specialist who can stay consistent on offence, giving our stars space to maintain their offence too. A big reason for every first round exit is our stars being stifled by either a solid shutdown line or just simply going cold. I think if we had someone line Hall last year, the Leafs might have been able to put up more than 1 goal in game 7 last year, especially with the power plays we got. Even if the new forward isn't on the 1st PP, having them as a threat on the 2nd at least gives Keefe the option if the stars are getting stiffled again. Last year the best name on the 2nd PP was Cobra, if we upgrade that to someone like Meier, that puts a lot of rival teams in potential firedrills on the PK, even after stiffling Marner, Tavares, and Matthews.

  3. I think they like lots of competition for roster spots. Players have to bring it every night, or there's a guy right behind him chomping at the bit to get in a game. They don't need to add marquee players, just good players with some edge.

  4. I definitely agree with you guys on preferring forwards to d men. Not that the d couldn’t use an upgrade, but forwards are a more pressing issue. Timo Meier would be such a great add, I really hope they get him

  5. Since it’s the Leafs the ask is a 1st plus prospect for Gavrikov. I would be ok with a 2nd from other the Oilers though.
