GAME RECAP: Penguins vs. Oilers (03.10.24) | Rust Returns To Line Up



For the second meeting between these two clubs, The Pittsburgh Penguins hosted the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday afternoon. Edmonton’s Connor McDavid scored the first goal of the match-up in the first minute. Later, a second Oilers goal was scored by Mattias Ekholm. Edmonton held a 2-0 lead at the end of the 1st. The 2nd period was scoreless for both teams. Special teams played a large part in the flow of the period. Neither side was able to capitalize on their opportunities. Darnell Nurse was able to score two goals in the 3rd for the Oilers and seal the win with a score of 4-0.

  1. Letang has given up a ton of goals in his career with those long stretch passes he likes to do, that end up getting picked off. He hasn't looked himself lately, maybe age is catching up to him? Injured? But his play has stunk as of late.

  2. This whole season has been lazy, stupid, uninspired play. I'm guessing any one of this year's Frozen Four teams could give the Pens a good run.

  3. Kris Letang makes so many mistakes in every single game that he shouldn't even be playing in the AHL anymore!
