  1. Great work, on short rest. I didn't know that the tie point was at risk. Makes the move more impressive, as many have mentioned.

  2. This is seriously tbe absolute best way for me to follow the league. Thanks again for the dedication.

  3. As a Preds fan I am surprised our point streak has lasted 12 games but like you said the sphere thing happened. I honestly think the whole sphere thing changed the team or something. What a gutsy move by Hynes in the end I don’t think anyone saw that coming. The amount of tension between these two teams was crazy the entire time.

  4. This Avs fan doesn’t pay attention much outside of Dallas, CO and Winnipeg but watched your review then watched the highlights. Great game, ROR looking like ✨vintage ✨ ROR from back in his rookie days, Saros making great stops but leaking the puck and a stone cold move in OT pays off with 2 points. Good for Minnie and I don’t say that often lol

  5. The only hope maybe is that Nashville peaked early with their incredible run this past month.

Wild are likely going to miss the playoffs but I like seeing the coach have the confidence to keep trying. I think Nashville will be a WC team fairly comfortably.

  6. I might feel silly if I get the answer, but what is the logic behind the goalie pull in OT rule? I don't see why the team should be punished extra when they're taking a risk that could easily lose them the second point.

  7. Classic case of a bad move looking genius because it worked. This absolutely puts the odds against you and just because the Wild immediately executed a beauty of a one-timer doesn't change that. There is no chance people would be saying that was a good call had it of backfired. A 4 on 3 advantage is definitely strong with the extra ice but I'm calling this pays off at BEST about 30% of the time should coaches keep doing it.

  8. The Wild hadn't lost 3 in a row coming in. They're actually on a 4-game point streak with 3 wins and an OT loss to the Avs. Not that they didn't deserve to be lower in the Power rankings this week, but I thought it was odd to drop 3 or 4 spots after 2 wins and an OT loss to a top row team on the road in a back-to-back game since last week.

  9. Hynes with the boldest mode since…who mows when. The fact that he put a point on the line to have a slightly better chance at 2 is crazy, and I applaud him for…even though I bet Nashville.

  10. Great game to watch, almost ruined by terrible call that gave the Pred's the tying goal late! Hard fought game by both sides, not dirty by either team, but playoff type hockey. Gusty call to pull the goalie in OT, fun ending!

  11. I've never liked that rule. You'd see way more 4 on 3 attempts in OT if you removed it. And i guarantee teams would burn themselves more often than not. It would be amazing entertainment.

  12. Well, I guess you learn something new every day. I'm not exactly a hockey neophyte, but I had never known of the rule about loosing the extra point if you pull your goaltender. Then again, I had never seen a coach pull the goaltender except on a delayed penalty. I thank you for the insight.

  13. Listening to this game on the radio… announcers were perplexed what was going on in OT…. no delayed penalty… pretty awesome. I love gutsy calls. Good for Hynes.

  14. Interesting to learn about the OT Goalie Pull Rule. 🤔

Jumping the gun because I’m about to turn in but wow is Huberdeau absolutely not working out for Calgary.

Minus-2 tonight, a team worst Minus-17 on the season, 9 goals and 40 points (the Flames 4th Best Scorer) and a $10.5 million cap hit; yeesh.

I mean Gaudreau is at least leading the Blue Jackets in scoring (both seasons, so far) even if he isn’t scoring as often as he did w/ Calgary. What a trade Florida pulled off; but I feel bad for Weegar.

  15. Credit to the goalie pull, but Zucarello's game-winning pass was a beautiful no-looker that nobody's talking about.

  16. What a game! Fast, fierce, intense as hell. I loved the look on Boldy's face after he scored the game winner. That is what hockey is all about!

  17. And now Nashville plays in winnipeg on Wednesday. Why do the jets run into every hot team in the league? It seems like that anyway

  18. That was a ballsy call to pull the goalie when they did, holy crap! Was fun to watch though.

  19. Must have been watching federov do this for the last 3 seasons with central army in the khl.nice move but has been done before numerous times by federov

  20. Wild went all in pulling the goalie w 4 forwards..
So that begs more questions – will more teams try this strategy in OT in the future?

  21. Some NHL history for yall on that goalie pull call:
    1. The last team to score while pulling the goalie in OT without a delayed penalty was on October 28, 2017 with the LA Kings doing it against Boston. I was very surprised to see it was that early in the season.
    2. It has only backfired twice. The first time was April 7, 2000 in a game where Edmonton scored the empty netter on Vancouver. The 2nd was March 25, 2003 with Columbus beating LA.
    3. I was surprised that there wasn't a team that was abusing the system that resulted in this rule (I believe this is why Power Plays end when a goal is scored). The rule actually dates back to when the game ended in a tie after the OT period ended and they didn't want teams pulling the goalie late in OT to steal an extra standings point since you had nothing to lose. The NHL wanted there to be a bigger risk if you give up the EN goal, so that in theory the better team is more likely to win

  22. The penalty call with 3 minutes left in the game was ABSOLUTE BS! Please explain to me how that wasn't just good pressure by Erickson Ek?! There was no stick into the hands. Totally soft call that got Nashville to get their point.

  23. SHANNON, I'M NOW A PART OF
LOCKED ON WILD, WOULD YOU JOIN

It's a Town Hall forum, live and interactive, maybe in the SPRING when things slow down, I would certainly be
    Forever Grateful, Denny from Minnesota

  24. Shannon question ????

If a team has a delayed penalty in OT, AND u accidently score on your empty goal….do you than lose the point?

  25. If the team that pulls the goalie in overtime risks both points, then I think that if that same team wins with the goalie pulled, then the losing team should get zero points. That would make it a little more interesting, eh?

  26. I went and watched the last few minutes of 3rd and OT

    Thrilling
I get Min fans not happy with the borderline call, he did get stick in hands from below ,weird

Although I say the refs let Min get away with a slash on the hands just a minute earlier

  27. The preds having back to back matinee games was the worst piece of scheduling I think I’ve ever seen. They were screwed from the jump

  28. Balls call by Hynes, although the Wild did NOT lose 3 in a row before this game. They just beat the sharks and coyotes before falling to Col in OT
