I'm not sure why some Leaf fans expected them to make big moves. The team is up against the cap. Has little to no draft picks. Their good talent are under contracts with no move clause. Leafs will make a bigger push when the JT contract ends which is what I think they're waiting for. As for the moves they made,they did okay due to being in the tight spot they're in. The previous GM left the leafs in a horrible mess.
I would have offered Montréal a first round pick for a tough puck moving defender like Hamilton born Arbor Xhekaj.

Is was rumored that there was other player in leafs and wild trade that was RD Brook Faber but the leafs didn't have a 2nd round in 2024 or 2025 and a 5th in 2024 would have gone to wild but it would have cost leafs 1st in 2024 but leafs didn't want to do that so leafs only get Conner Dewar

I've always loved Parayko, but not now at 6.5M aav for another 6 years, while about to turn 31 in May. He has developed back issues, so in my world stay the hell away from that red flag. All the other sellers wanted too much for aging rentals. Tree had cap issues like 16 other competitive clubs & had to spend picks for double retention on Boosh & Edmunson, so I have no issues with any of that & along with Dewar, they are a tougher team to play against than they were a week ago. 20 games left, so hopefully no more injuries.
