Probably no one was willing to pay what Buch is worth and no one wanted any of the bad contracts. My guess is a trade near draft day.
I’m cool with this. Trading Buch isn’t worth it unless the return is extravagant.

We really had nothing of value to trade besides Buch and based on the returns from the deadline deals thank fucking god we didn’t move him right now. Would’ve liked to see Scandella shipped for a late pick but no one was going to give us anything for Kap on a 3.2 mil deal even if we retained. Just a push to the offseason and hopefully make something happen at the draft.
Armstrong legitimately just said in his presser “hard for a scout to have the fortitude to recommend anyone with the way we’ve played the last two weeks”.

I’m usually a Doug defender but this is a joke. Sell Scandella for a 7th round pick at the bare minimum. The worst spot to be in in sports is in the middle. Mediocre is what we are. We didn’t get better, we didn’t get worse. I see this as a disservice to our future.

As I expected, people upset but you can’t just make a trade and get rid of your problems. They are just kind of stuck right now and don’t have much to trade aside from a high asking price for Buch, which team apparently weren’t willing or able to pay. They have contracts they’d like to get rid of and I’m sure they’ve tried. But most likely if you can find any takers, they’re going to want something you don’t want to give up as well.
I hear Future Considerations has sick mitts. I think he’ll slot very nicely into our top 6.
