Given the prices forwards were going for at this deadline I would have been really surprised if anyone offered up something decent. People may be upset that they didn’t we didn’t trade him, but the return for a guy who is ppg and scoring at close to a 40 goal pace over the last six seasons is only a first if it’s pick 31 or 32.
Glad Laughton is staying around, but this is not the year to have a fire sale especially if you don’t have to.

This is one where it legit makes sense to sell, but it also saddens me, because in years of flat Flyers effort, Laughts was often the only guy who you could clearly see pushing. We’ve got a team now doing that same thing, and it would be great if he could go on the trip with him. I think him going on this upcoming (maybe) playoff journey will be a nice capstone – and after that, I wish him very well with a contender.
