Anyone who has followed Suzuki’s journey from the time he was traded to the Guelph storm and winning OHL playoff MVP, to his quick acceleration as a rookie from playing on Nate Thompson’s RW on the 4th line to being considered as top line with Caufield and Toffoli during the 2021 playoff run, knew that his $7.875M x 8 year contract would become a steal in a matter of a couple of years.

    It wasn’t rocket science to see that Nick was always a 30 goal scorer and all that he needed to reach that potential was to get a winger not named Anderson who can actually feed him the puck. Dach was a great addition to the Nick-Cole duo and Nick was at one point on pace for 100 pts. Teammate injuries derailed that pace. This year Slaf has taken that role and Nick has shown the same qualities as he did at the beginning of the 2022-2023 season.
