lol at all the people freaking out. the only thing wrong here, is that a human being is witnessing a genuine moment through a robot, instead of living in that moment. that's the only crime here.
Guys, relax. Quick isn't going to get in trouble for signing an autograph. And I'm sure he's not dumb enough to think an excited fan was gonna take this story to the grave. He just didn't want to create a scene.
Wow! I didn't think anyone saw this, except for the people near by. Classy move by quick. "Un-"classy move by the person responsible for posting this video. I worked security that game and as the players went back into the tunnel a person from the NHLPA Board of Supervisors spoke to Quick about his actions. I'll be classy and not say what I heard. Let's just say that there was a game going on and players, as a rule of conduct, have a domain in which they have to obey. It was during a time in which players are not allowed to do certain acts of gesture. It says so itself in the rule book, which is available on many NHL or NHL affiliated websites. You're an idiot.
I am a blues fan but this was very classy of him. As for him 'getting punished' for this. if he did that is some bs. Salute to you quick. even though us blues hate you for keeping the cup away from STl. XD
Good stuff quick your a true gentlemen as for the poster man keeps this to yourself you don't want to get the guy in trouble for doing you a favor everyone has to remember this is his job wether he is playing or sitting that game he is still on the clock.
Not taking anything away from what the man did there, Jonathan Quick, it was very classy and a step-up thing to do for a fan and all. But what hockey player wouldn't do that? (please don't start naming players…. I know, I know… I mean TRUE hockey players". Like ***** said, the nice things go unseen and unheard sometimes. Ask my 12 year old self (now 24) how much it meant to me that Darren McCarty hosted an hour long dry skill session at the Novi Expo Center for a small batch of youngsters including myself, and stayed at a booth signing autographs on (sometimes) multiple dozen items per person, until they shut off the lights, let the air out of the bounce house, shoo'd everyone out, and basically made him stop. Two words: Hockey Culture
You're right guys, Quick might even lose his job over this. There's no way the coach will allow him to step on the ice again after such a ludicrous act. He will be on the streets in no time.
So players who are basically inactive are not allowed to engage the fans during a game? I know they're suppose to be 'at work' or on duty sort of thing, but that's pretty ridiculous if the club fined him for feeding the new generation of players/fans.
It was a preseason game that he ALREADY played and if you can listen to the announcer it was going into a shootout. Hes not going to get in trouble for that lol
Two years later and nothing has happened to Quick in response, yes it's technically against the rules but the team and the league won't fire or fine the guy just for doing something nice for a kid. Don't worry about posting it, post it everywhere, who the fuck cares?! If the player, team and league don't then I certainly wouldn't worry about some butt hurt fans on here that didn't get an autograph as well
