Hi
Man the west is STACKED
As an avs fan, a panthers vs avalanche cup would be sick
Colorado is looking dangerous. VGK and COL are coming down to the wire to build the scarier team.
All eyes on the Eastern Conference now as we're <24 hrs from TDL. Lets see.
The Edmundson trade is fine. I think he'll be fine in Toronto where he won't be constantly hemmed in his own end. But he's a lefty, and not the guy I'd play with Rielly.
They still need another righty, i hope they go big, they just need one more peice to be a true contender. A big skilled defenseman to play with Rielly. Preferably by moving Brodie.
Parayko, Pulock, Chychrun, something like that. A guy that still has a good 3-5+ years left of good hockey.
Sward has been a damn good defenseman in the WHL watching him play a few times this season. Avs got a solid prospect as a throw in, tidy work from Sakic and MacFarland.
The Avalanche are LOADED!
Im a Leafs fan so I say I was not expecting Edmundson, I was expecting Dumba but Edmundson works
In my opinion the Avs will find that they came out on the losing end of these trades a season or two.
Gonna be hilarious if any/all of the teams who were aggressive get knocked out of the first round.
Edmunsen is a decent get imo. He was a beast in the Montreal Cup final run. Some players (like teams) are just built for playoff hockey. I think they'll be grateful for him when they get there.
Not a Canes fan, but I'm a little worried they haven't made a move yet while most other contending teams have gotten better. They cleared some cap space today so maybe they're going for Guentzel or Buchnevich?
Edit: just saw that it's most likely Guentzel!!
I’m going to really miss Yak as a preds fan 😢😢
I work at Ball arena,& our chances of hosting BOTH the NBA & NHL Finals this June-just went up significantly.Avs just filled their 1 major hole-2c,& their lesser holes of 4th line depth,& physicality with Duframe,& I assume Trenin will be our new 4c-another pretty big hole. Then we replaced Byrum with a guy in Walker who obviously doesnt have the potential of Bo-obviously at 29 you are what you are.I still believe Byrum can be an All star. But he wasnt gonna get that top pair chance here,& our time is now.Walker is a better/more consistent dman today,& better suited for a bottom 4 role on a contender. I think thats win-win for both Colorado,& Buffalo. They have time to be patient & let Bo grow-but we gotta go for it now. When you have 3 of the top 10 or 15 dudes on earth(Mckinnon,Makar,& Rantanen)-& another 2 fringe allstars(Nichuskin,& Toewes)-ya cant let those guys down cuz your depth,& 2ndary/3rdary guys arent good enough.
We had a chance before these moves-but we have a significantly better chance now,& no longer have any glaring holes. Its tough to go deep when you are terrible at 2c.You dont have to be elite-& we still arent-Middletadt isnt Drasaitil or Kadri in 2022.But he makes us good there,& we fixed our most glaring hole by taking from our greatest strength(maybe the best & deepest blueline in the nhl)-& replaced Byrum anyways…arguably slightly improved-at leadt for this season.(Walker is UFA anyways). Id still like 1 more deal to get a veteran backup goalie-#2 or even #3. But whatever happens-I applaud the Avs for PROACTIVELY addressing their needs. If we fall short-ya certainly cant blame mgt. Ya also gotta factor in Parise when grading our deadline-as he basically was just a few wks before the deadline.
Thanks for all that. On the Duhaime trade, 3rd does seem rich but given it’s a 2026 3rd, it seems reasonable. At least that’s what Avs insiders are saying …
I love that Perreault trade I think he could become a top 9 forward when it feels like mysak wouldn’t really get the opportunity.
and now bye bye duclair
The Avs really didn't have any tough guys on their team. They just aquired two today, and didn't give up much for them. While overall, the AVS have just become much harder to beat over the last two days; you still have to wonder about that back up goalie situation for the Avs.
The Yakov Trenin + Mittelstadt trades to me says that Landeskog isn't coming back this year as Trenin can be in the bottom 9 and produce at a middle 6 pace and Mittelsadt slots into your top 9 and can produce at a first liner pace in sheltered minutes. Plus what they lack in not having Landeskog they get in both forwards they traded for… Again keep up the great content and GO OIL GO!!!
Sharks trade not in here thought that it would be
Forsling getting traded for Clendening was always a bad rush trade IMO(I recall media/Benning saying it was a trade for the kind of player Forsling would eventually turn into, but IMO, he never had as high a ceiling as Forsling was showing, even if he wasn't there yet). But I always hated the Benning management, always flipflopping and not ever having a solid vision of how to put together a team vs overfocusing on whatever he decided would be some cureall and losing awareness of anything else that needed doing…
This channel is GOATED
Dumaime worth almost as much as Tarasenko, the sens are really a dumpster fire
Forsling contract seem very friendly , he could have got more in FA. at least 7m a year imo. He's been a beast this year
I like the experience that Edmondson brings to the Leafs and the gritty style of play..im a big fan of that stuff and after watching them pound the piss outta the "Big Bad Bruins" tonight, i can say for sure, they aren't "soft" anymore, but with that being said, i think Treliving needs to swing for the fences and move out Brodie and Lillejgren or possibly Robertson for a guy like Colton Parayko for example..hes a big, sometimes mean defense first, right shot, top 4 Dman. He also comes with a pretty scary cap hit and term, but atleast i wouldnt feel as bad about throwing a first or a prospect at St Louis, because your getting a few playoff runs with him more than likely paired with Mo. You throw Brodie and maybe Lillejgren in there strictly to make the money work..i wasnt sure about the idea at first, but now its growing on me. You can NOT sit around and keep saying "maybe next year" when you have one of the best players on the planet, in his prime, you have to go for it every year, imo..something like the Oilers situation. Js..
I wish Chevy picked up someone else
